I love the covers from Michelle Paver's 'Chronicles of Ancient Darkness' series. I think they are so evocative of the age they are set in.

This thread is wonderful, I especially love the Enid Blyton covers! They certainly bring back memories.
Honestly, I bought this book based on the cover. It's embossed and is just lovely.

some inspiring covers from the Book Cover Archive.

OMG, those were all great and i really like the columbine one, when i got the book the first thing i noticed was the cover was just so amazingly scary and deserted looking. lol anyways,I finished reading it about a week ago. A M A Z I N G book, tho dave cullen does seem to exagerate some facts (hmmmph!!) :L

this isn't Book Cover so much as entire book design, but I got this copy of Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen at my university's book fair for 50c. It's from 1914 and is so beautifully designed. it's also in perfect condition

Sorry to double post, but here's some more. ^_^ I scanned these from The Complete Book of Bookbinding by Josep Cambras :flower:

For my tentative book, I'm very inspired by these ... I definitely want to master bookbinding, mass factory produced and cheap doesn't appeal as much to me. These are so ornate and exquisite.
