Boston shopping

I dont know if anyone cares ( I DO) but there is a 20% discount coupon for Johnny Cupcakes from now until Wed.

If anyone wants it. PM me and I'll email you the coupon.

Has anyone been out to the Wrentham outlets?

I heard they were great, but Im always skeptical about outlets, and usually never find anything.

^^i haven't been there recently but you can find some good stuff there..

Chris I've been there and it's a gamble. Somestimes you find good stuff, sometimes you don't.

yeah.. that's a good way to put it..

it can be really hit or miss..
and the crowds over the weekend are intense..
lots of baby carriages and little kids running around
especially at this time of year..

Chrissy: gross..

The outlets arent bad..I went to the Burberry one there 3 years ago and bought a solid-purple & solid-red scarf there (sans check-logo) for, like, $40 each...

Oh, inside scoop re: the Wrentham outlets: if you go to the Ferragamo store there & purchase any clothing, the clothing is what didnt quite make it..in Europe..So if you buy something there, rest assured that it's never even seen the Copley location...

I want to check it out.

Thanks for the tips.

I still have not gone to the Garment District. Anything good?

Sigh..... I miss the wrentham outlets. I am a boston native and there is really no outlet shopping like wrentham or the ones like in clinton ct. I was home back in November and racked up a ton of clothes in off fifth as well as bunch of shoes in Nine West.

The best time to go is when it's not freezing outside:D

i actually stopped by the outlets with my mother this morning..
she bought me a bunch of stuff for christmas from off 5th :innocent:

you can snag some good deals in there on marc by marc and some other brands right now..
they had a bunch of theory and lots of premium denim (i tried not to linger over the denim because i already have too many pairs of jeans)..
looked like most of the jeans were around $120 or under if i remember correctly..

there weren't too many baby carriages either because of the cold weather :p

burberry's got lots of scarves from like $120-$200 (didn't look too closely at all the prices)

i think it's worth trekking out there and taking a look..

I thought Id go today, but not in this weather. Our street hasn't even been plowed yet.

^Tell me about it. I wanted to finish up my Christmas shopping today, but this morning it took me 10 minutes just to cross the street for breakfast. I couldn't tell where the sidewalk ended and the street began!

Well we spent an hour trying to dig our car out. They plowed our street but not our parking area.

So I decided to use Zipcar instead since those were dug out already. We had to dig it out a bit more. After 30 mins of struggling to get out of the spot (after realizing I had the parking brake on the whole time) we were free and head to Natick for shopping.

I TOTALLY suggest shopping in weather like this. The mall was DEAD and we didnt have to fight crowds. It was well worth all of the work.

Rofl I'm so glad I'm out of the city right now. My dad came and took me out of college that night the blizzard hit (big plumber's truck for the win <333!). Beacon street and Cleveland circle were an absolute mess. There were taxis stuck everywhere.

On the note of shopping haha....uhm....I'm done christmas shopping? yey me! haha

I've only been to the outlets once..It was a while ago..I remember liking Off Fifth. My favorite place for bargains is (or was) the now-closed-for-renovation downtown Filene's Basement..The city really screwed up by letting it shut down like that!
I imagine the stores would be pretty empty with this kind of snow/ice out there.. I don't have a car and live in the city, so usually during blizzards I just stay in (and go stir crazy) as much as I can.
Anyone been to the Jasmine Sola recently?
I haven't bought anything during their sale yet.. Was last in the store when everything was only up to 40% off.. been checking on the website to see the current discount
It's crazy how many new branches of the place they opened (throughout Newton, etc)--only to have to shut it down..ugh.

I went to Jasmine Sola a while ago to check out the sales, but they weren't as discounted as I was hoping :/ I saw a wicked cute dress, but I was like DAMN this is definetely not discounted!! I got an email from them saying that they marked everything down again though? So maybe we should check it out...again.

I can't wait for the new store (I forget the name of the place taking them over, but I'm guessing it's worth a try to browse around when they come in)

some of the jasmine sola stores are 40-70% off...i should think they would all be closed by the end of january...

Thanks so much for the link- Great article. It really explains things. Anyone been in any of the stores recently? I keep wanting to check it out but am trying to avoid the Christmas crowds..

really great article!
i sent it around to my sisters and cousins because i figured they would be interested :p

it's nice to get an explanation for their decline over the last couple years (which i feel we've all noticed and just didn't get)..

it's too bad really because jasmine used to be a great place to shop..

Maybe I'll try Wrentham AFTER Christmas (with my Christmas cash)B)
