Bottega Veneta Bags

blythe10...CONGRATULATIONS on your new purchase!!! Gorgeous, gorgeous bag!! Saw it in the BV boutique in Singapore. The SA informed that the grommet intrecciatos were the items directly from the catwalk i.e. fashion show pieces. Hence very unique and pricier than the regular intrecciatos. Also the grommet bags were in deer skin while the regular ones were in nappa or lamb skin. The deer skin is softer and more durable. When I was there, they had red, white and gold grommet bags. The gold one was in gold-dust suede. Cost SGD3100+.

The lamb skin intrecciatos cost SGD1980+/- for Medium size. SGD2400 for Large size. S'pore BV had these in salmon, light green, blue, white, brown and black. Somehow the Large looked and sat better on the shoulder than the Medium. And I'm only 5'3".

I like the clip-framed intrecciato one. It is a long, shoulder bag and looks like a doctor's bag. NAP had it in fuschia pink a season or two ago. S'pore BV had it in black, brown and red. Cost SGD2500.

would love a woven bag in deerskin. I'm surprised they can do it since deerskin is so thick. baghag21, any idea where we can get the deerskin grommet bags? the only ones I've seen are napa.

;) thanks for the info.!

baghag21, Which grommet intrecciatos were you talking about? I saw a Intrecciato Napa Grommet Veneta on NM, it said the bag is in napa.

bottega does the best exotic skins around- in my opinion there croc is better that a certain well known freanch brand. last summer i bought a simple small square men's shoulder bag made from a georgeous cut of crocodile- sadly it's never been used yet- before last winter exotics on men were unheard of ..there was also a croc doctors bag- possibly the status bag for men but at £12k it would have been too obscene for me...

I love the ones Brian and Morgan posted. I usually like the more unusual Bottega Veneta bags instead of the typical woven bags, these ones for example:

Where did you get the photo on the right? The other I presume is Style.com, details shots.

you mean the one on the bottom? I think neimans has it. I have this style bag in ebony from the first season with an adjustable strap.

my SA at the boutique called me to look at some of the bags from the trunk show (which I missed). I don't think I'll make it over but he said they have several of the fall bags shown on the runway (go to style.com for pics). he thinks the hot bag (of which they're making only 50) is one with butterflies and other stuff on it, but it costs over $6,000 and is made of kangaroo. I couldn't do it.

kangaroo- the exotic skin thing is getting just silly. however saying that reindeer suede is sublime against the skin...

the cabat famously takes two men two days to make, there's a certain appeal in the honesty of the craftmanship involved.

is this the reason for the prices?

i have been wanting a black balenciaga for a long time now but keep dipping into my savings for other things....i had no idea the quality wasnt up there with BV....i have to admit i can appreciate quality in clothing more than handbags...i guess i was never taught about the difference when it comes to bags....is it honestly justifiable to spend $1,000+ on one of these bags? does the name jack up the price considerably?

i'd love any insight you have on this....:)

I don't think it's ever justified to ask $+1000 on a bag, I'm weak though :innocent: Compared with other $+1000 bags you def. won't be dissapointed!! It's the softest leather I ever felt
