i don't know if anyone cares anymore, but the bag that jennifer aniston has been carrying everyday for months can be special ordered. it's approximately $2100 and takes about 8 weeks. one interesting fact is the detailing is in raffia, not leather. i think it's cute but am reluctant to buy a bag sight unseen. if anyone is interested, call the bv boutique in coral gables and ask for alexandra.

Bottega Venetta bags are the most unreasonably priced bag. I visited the boutique at Avenue K and saw one of the bag, the famous interciatto woven large tote priced nearly RM 100 000.00 or US$27 320.00!

With that sum of money I can buy myself an apartment!!!!

Yes! I love it. It's a such a luxurious bag! The leather is unbelievable. It's very comfortable. I'd love to see your new version Nizlay. Sounds gorgeous. What color did you get?

Same colour as you, Amalie! I've been looking for a blue bag for a while now. it was between the blue and that new dark red. I'll try and post pics as soon as I get it. I have no idea how to do that but I'll see if someone can help me out. I've also got the same one as yours in the dark brown. I agree the leather is amazing. I wish they had left the new model with the same twisted handle as the original one. That wqould have been perfect!

I'd take any BV bag! The look is not the only reason. The feel, the richness of the leather. It's a complete package. You really can tell the difference.

I don't always like the Bottega colors, but I've yet to see one that I don't like the style. As for "not worth the retail asking price"... well, some of them are awfully expensive - it's hard to know what "worth it" means when they're so far out of my range. It would be nice to see exactly what goes into some of the more expensive ones - the materials and labour. I don't know how wealthy I would have to be to feel comfortable spending $27,500 on a bag. (But manolocraver - I want to know where you can buy an apartment for that, 'cuz I'll move!)

I have found several sites online that carry authentic BV bags, and at a decent price. Although I cannot find the style that I am looking for. What is the style of BV purse that Jennifer Aniston has? I love that purse, but i dont know the style. Does anyone know??

Hi everyone. I attended a Bottega trunk show and lunch hosted by no less than Tomas Maier himself! He is an absolute sweetie. Really nice guy (although it's hard to tell when he's being serious and cracking a joke). Clearly a visionary!

I have always admired Bottega bags and when they explained the production process, vision of the brand, training of their artisans, I was really impressed.

I also got to see the CROC CABAT in person - and I was left completely speechless. This bag is AMAZING. Stunning beyond words. It is also beyond expensive at about US$75,000 It is, without doubt, the softest, most luxe croc leather I have ever felt in my life. Even MUCH softer and richer than Hermes croc. They explained that EACH croc cabat uses up to TWENTY FIVE diff types of croc skins that they then weave together, so that the bag has a richer texture compared to "regular" high end croc bags that use from the same croc skin. They match the different tones to make sure it complements the overall look of the bag.

And you can really tell the difference! It has a sheen that makes the bag appear different depending on the background, lighting, etc. I am now obsessed with the croc cabat!!

Anyway, they featured a few limited edition BV bags mostly in exotic skins. I saw and fell in love with a special edition Medium Lido Cabat. This is part of their latest collection, but has a more streamlined and "cleaner" design than the large lido cabat. I loved it from first sight because of its wonderful mixed tones of mostly white, beigey-orangey dark brown, etc.

I am now a total BV convert!!

Trivia: since Tomas was a former designer at Hermes, he made a funny/sarcastic comment when he saw my croc birkin. He said "I believe our croc takes longer to produce than your bag, as lovely as it is"
