Bottega Veneta F/W 2019.20 Milan

Love this! It’s just those long sleeves that make me vomit. Who on Earth thought it looks good or comfy? I don’t want to look like an amputee.

Really strong. I loved how he played with fabrics here, especially the leather and knit. Lots of expectations, mostly very successful. I do agree that those long sleeves looks were a mistake, better off with the sharper fit. But I I'm crazy about the overall aesthetic, a nice balance between gritty urban and modern luxury. It's a bit GMBH meets Helmut Lang. So many looks that are the highlights of the seaon so far.

I just wish there were more menswear! I don't get why all the Kering brands are shoving the mens into the background.

I see some Chanel and a lot of Prada, but this is a very strong fashion moment. The oversized and deconstructed pieces are not my cup of tea, but damn, the constructed looks are exquisite.

As a first runway outing it was a good start, the leather pieces looked terrific. I just have some reservations on the menswear side, that at times smacks a bit too much of Rick Owens.

I love this!
Part of me wish he was at Celine because this is exactly what I wish Celine was today!
The menswear is like Rick Owens/Ysl by Pilati (last collection) and the womenswear is Tom Ford for Gucci meets Rick Owens meets Phoebe’s Celine.

The menswear is maybe the sexiest menswear collection i’ve seen in a longtime.

I would say that mr Lee tried too hard sometimes: the quilted skirt with the buckle belt, the odd collar styling/gimmick. He needs to simplify his ideas.

Other than that, it’s very good!
Now, with BV prices...It’s seems unreachable.

I'm definitely not a fan, it all looks very heavy.

I don't particularly care about the womenswear (although the Gucci-circa-2000-esque sparkly pieces are fabulous; quite a lot of references to Tom's Gucci collections actually) but the menswear certainly tickles my tw*t! The leather outerwear is gorgeous and I just love the tailoring; I'd only lose the sheer Margiela turtlenecks because we've just seen them a year ago.

I was so looking forward to this and was so excited about this guy, but now I’m not so sure. Looks messy and ill-fitting. Why did he take the stiff, awkward Balenciaga route with the tailoring? I’m sick of those cartoonish jackets that are as stiff as a cardboard. The motorcycle leathers and boots look too much like they came from a sci-fi movie costume department, and the attempts at deconstruction remind me mostly of Rick Owens. The womenswear is definitely better, but they should have edited it and expand some of the nice ideas into multiple looks, such as the orange knit tie cardigan.

All in all, I see so many shows these days that lack confidence. It’s so many random ideas in one, yet they don’t manage to pull them together for greater effect. Prada does the same now. Before they had the guts to stick to one or two things and make the most out of them, resulting in those memorable shows we still long for.

Gucci, Rick, Chanel, YSL, Prada, Helmut, Celine. Might as well throw in Balenciaga w/ that car-mat coat from the first post.

I think this is a good start. I can't imagine this would turn into a now-you-see-him now-you-don't kinda tenure.

That lilac croc coat on the model w/ the cornrows...very nice. And very, very expensive-looking.

All I could think of as I was swiping through the pictures was.....yikes! It’s all so I’ll fitting! Kind of a mess!

I'm mixed. There's potential in Daniel's Bottega Veneta. I see the modernity and sharpness in glimpses but I'm not exactly sold yet. The trouble is in the volume and rigidness in a majority of the looks. I'm not a fan of the menswear at all.

Every single menswear look is hideous. There is a couple of decent looks in womenswear. Overall superficial and immature.

Lots of references from another designers; but as a whole it looks more like Paco Rabanne by Julien Dossena than Bottega Veneta by Daniel Lee.

There are interesting pieces...but it lacks personality.

I’m on this new Bottega bandwagon. Most of the womenswear is up my alley and I can’t stop drooling over the motorcycle look in the beginning I think it’s to die for!

I havent seen even one attractive piece. Everything looked so terribly clunky, ill fitting and contrived. Terrible let-down. My Philio-$ will ( unexpected) not be going here. Im not understanding the praise.

I miss Tomas Maier extreme luxurious elegance that's what i personally associate with BV ..with that been said this is good... not my cup of tea ...but good nonetheless...Daniel Lee is very talented i must say..
