Bottega Veneta F/W 2019.20 Milan

I do like the collection but it looks like they didn’t have any fittings with the models prior to the show.

I deel like it was quite cold yet there was something cool and modern about the show. To me it was somehow unexpected because the pre-fall lookbook wasn't that perfected and had some wit and mistakes done on purpose. What's more, the s/s campaign had the same late 90s/early 00s/p*rn chic vibd going on and here it can't be really found. But as a whole it was a really nice debut.

Some of the women's looks are very good! I'm excited to see where he takes Bottega.

I'm conflicted on the menswear. Really appreciate that it's not so streetwear-slogan heavy. But it veers a little too rick-owens-helmut-lang for me. We'll see how it goes in the future.

This collection is so messy, some fugly shoes with some classic 50’s kitten heels....So puzzled!

Btw who styled this show? Def not Camilla Nickerson...

A real strong debut from Daniel Lee and commend him entirely for going full-force in overhauling Bottega Veneta! This does still feel very much like BV but with a very modern twist (sans those hideous quilted shoes). A thumbs up from me!

Judging from the thoughtful interviews he gave to tease his direction for Bottega, I did not expect this collection coming at all. I find it pretty try-hard and heavy handed especially in the tailored part of the collection, leaving a lot to be desired when it comes to the finer details, such as the shape of the lapels, the choice of materials and the placements of pockets etc. - For a direction that owes more than a bit to people like Helmut Lang where you know there was a solid menswear foundation behind, this lacks a depth of understanding that these seemingly small details matter. Bottega Veneta is first and foremost a house known for discreet, timeless luxury and I can't help but think that this collection does not live up to those standards.

Daniel Lee has brought back a certain buzz and a clear interest in BV. I have no doubt that te RTW will find it clientele.
RTW until now represented such a small part of their sales that it can only grow.

However, i’m very concern by the accessories after seeing more of them in some Resee previews. I don’t think the BV customer goes for that kind of edgy, trendy pieces. Something more subtle would have been appreciated for a first collection. The new cabas are fine but the rest... Not so great!

^Sorry my bad. I just double check it’s the same, probably the font on the website is in black, looking different from usually dark brown background on the product package >_<

I definitely get strong Céline and Balenciaga vibes but what he's doing is still so exciting compared to many other designers. I've never been interested in Bottega Veneta but he might actually change that with this new direction.

A promising start and I can't wait to see more.

To correct myself, yes Daniel Lee changed the logo secretly. My photo from the official website.

How’s the ready to wear selling I wonder...some bags are selling like hot cakes already, namely the small coin purse with a sling.

The rtw I don’t know but the bags and shoes are doing well. The shoes especially seem to be hitting of.

I think that brands needs to have a note that prevent designers from changing the logo! It needs to stop at one point!

Tbh, his BV is so appealing. I went more to the stores in the past 2 months that i’ve been in a whole decade...
It’s a pity there are so many great things this season! I wanted to take most of the clothes with me...
