and also, kula shaker, travis, gosh, SUEDE!!!, i loved them all!!!

Here's some other quality bands from this era:

SHED SEVEN!!!
The Bluetones
Echobelly
Cast
The Longpigs
Ash (before they went metal)
Dodgy
Lightning Seeds
Sleeper
Ocean Colour Scene
Ah such, great times   B)

Blur could actually be my favourite band ever, although it's such a difficult decision to make

^YES Ocean Colour Scene! Moseley Shores forever.

ASH WENT METAL? Good god. Glad I missed that one

LOVE Britpop. If the Stone Roses and Manics count, they are legendary. In terms of pure Britpop, I always loved Pulp and Supergrass best. Blur had their moments. Oasis... Oasis NEVER did. They were a bunch of crap. But hey the mindless common man that populates the British Isles probably saw his connection with the mindless Gallaghers and propelled them to the stratosphers. Their music is nigh on unbearable, anthems aside. If I hear another busker do Wonderwall, I might just go all Patrick Bateman on them.

But other stuff like Kula Shaker, My Vitriol, heck Ash, is pretty mediocre but I think people remember them because of the nostalgia for the decade.

Well....metal-ish :p

WHAT???

and i think Manic Street... counts as brit pop!!!:flower:

i love blur the best cos they never got to big, they were funny at start, but then hitted big time at one point,i think 1996, and after that they really made only music for fans... they didn't have that 'america success' trip... i think they were more honest than oasis in musical terms...

but oasis' best for me are ciggaterts and alcohol and my big mouth and i adore the song d'you know what i mean...
i miss them, and i never heard any brit pop band live, so please, if u have some personal pics post them, please!!! my country was politacaly ruined,so we had a period of more than a decade when none foreign band was able to come, exceps the prodigy in 1995...

^ Nu-Clear Sounds is way heavier than 1977, whilst it might not actually constitute as metal it's about a million miles away from britpop

never really liked ash. girl from mars makes me want to *********** every time i hear it. why is it still played? ugh.

the manics are one of my fave bands ever...and i have multitudes of personal pics if anyone is interested.

I love the Manic Street Preachers; I like Mansun, Suede, the Stone Roses. All this was introduced to me via British magazines during my youth, or I'd never have known a word of it. But I am, in fact, listening to The Holy Bible as I type...

Oh this thread takes me back! :p

I love Blur, but for me it hasn't been the same since Graham left.

I agree with SiennaInLondon about some of the bands being mediocre. Kula Shaker remind me of fun times, but they were a pretty rubbish band.

Well they may well do another album but Graham Coxon has said he won't rejoin them. Shame really

Oooh, what an album

Nothings happening with Blur, Albarn has a new band with Paul Simonon from the Clash and Gorillaz, Graham has his own career.

Gorillaz are not a band anymore... they sort of split up... it was just a project...

i love supergrass, the verve and what's the story morning glory cd by oasis makes me feel like i'm in a rock stadium :ninja:

tifa you're lucky..i love richard ashcroft. although i don't think much of his newest solo cd i absolutely love the verve

i remember my uncle played me one of suede's albums a while back (i forget the name) i loved it

but he has been working with them for years, while blur have been basically inactive. nothings happening there. to be honest, i prefer gorillaz but thats nothing to do with albarn, some great musicians working in there.

city girl, yeah ashcroft's newest...not soo good. break the night with colour is one of the only decent songs on it and even it'd be a average track on a verve cd. he still pulls it together really well live though, for a total nutter B)
