i love pins. i bought a 10 lb box of safety pins at a garage sale last year... i use them on all sorts of stuff, just for kicks. but i also like using brooches in odd ways, like making arm sleves shorter, or making a neckline lower, or pinning a pareo into a funky dress.

OOOooo, I love those ideas!! It always seemed a little old-ladyish to have a pin on the lapel of a jacket, but your ideas seem very fresh and modern!

i also don't know what the EXACT distinction between brooches and pins is, but I'm gonna post some stuff i have/like... go ahead and shoot me if they're not technically pins...

^ mullet, i think the feather looks like a wick, unfortunately! but that would be a super cool pin! not very practical, especially if it 'scorched' the top piece.
