Burberry F/W 2024.25 London

His strongest collection yet for me. Focused, with a great British identity and very desirable. The outerwear is phenomenal.

It did not work for me: I found the looks way too heavy, some models had a hard time walking, the accessories were so-so, and the opening look screamed cheap (even though I am pleased to see Agyness!).

The menswear is very weak...

I still prefer Tisci's Burberry over Lee's one tbh. So far his pre fall/resort collections are the best imo.

I feel like it looks very now, in the worst possible way. He isn't offering any new propositions. Instead he provided a collection of clothing that has proven to be sellable. It's formulaic, as if he's checking off a list. Coats: Check, Skirts: Check, etc... The color palette and choice of fabrics is what dragged it down. It looks heavy. When it did get light it became frumpy and shapeless. The little sweaters with the fur on the collar was done by Prada, and better I might add. Intentional or not, I had a little chuckle when that big skirt squashed the proportions of the model in look 46, she looked terrible in motion. Imagine that look on an average sized woman. I did catch that he was trying to add a little bit of glamour with the jewelry closer to the end as an attempt to dress up some questionable evening wear. If you break it down, all your really getting out of it are the coats. The yellow one (look 21) is the best piece. It's a good thing he offered several variations. I'm not impressed. I miss the romance of Bailey.

As a staunch Brit I'm all for Daniel - his understanding of Burberry is light years away from Tisci's grotesque tenure. Best collection so far, great colours, pieces will be very wearable once adopted to sales and suede trenches are dreaaaam. Ofc prices will kill me but whatever.

It’s really fabulous—not as fashion but as a wardrobe proposition. I could see myself in some of the pieces. The prices are of course the issue when Burberry’s perception cannot command them. A shame because I’d take most of the coats over what most designer labels are coming out with at even higher prices.

This collection is exquisite and this is comming from someone who doesn't even normally like Burberry. Then again I am a DL stan, because you can recognize his style and the luxuriousness of the clothes, with unusual and unexpected details. He is a special designer, indeed.

It’s interesting right?
So much talk about saving the animals to just throw more plastic on earth…that ends up harming animals.
And now fur is coming back!
yah- totally...
you're right, 'vegan leather' is just plastic which is WAY worse for the whole planet and lasts for five minutes before it winds up in a landfill...

no one chucks a fur coat in a landfill...LOL...
and even if they did, it's all natural so it's completely biodegradable...

people are funny...

But things have changed. It’s a lot of shearling, Mongolian lambs, goat fur…The fur pushed is not Fox, Chinchilla, Astrakan. It will be interesting to see Fendi or Vuitton as they are still using some classic furs.

While I had very obvious doubts about Lee's Burberry, this show has won me over.

Dropping the childish prints and the trendy accessories worked in his favour. I loved the idea of army green, but they should've stuck to 2-3 shades for a sharper impact. The brown knit dress on Assa Baradji and the tartan lined coat on Lily Cole were my personal favourites.

The fit is a bit sloppy, but considering that Burberry's samples are made out of house, that's to be expected.

As always the casting is full of charm, aside from Naomi who should've been sitting in the audience like she did at Alaïa. Amy Winehouse on the soundtrack is probably the best we'll have this season.

The success of Lee's Burberry now lies entirely in the executives' hands.
