Doesn't feel like we're missing much!
I see some real BIG fur coats. For summer? really?

It's funny to read the justification here in this thread vs. Tom Ford's. Whereas Tom was pretentious and delusional for trying to do the same thing, the majority of people are totally fine with Phoebe doing it.
Comical.
Not bad, I like the relaxed silhouettes and she seems to be attached to them for the moment.
I don't get the secrecy though, it's not anything groundbreaking and a couple of months delay will definately not deter anyone from copying what they think it'll sell anyway.
They just missed the resort buzz for nothing.
^Because Tom thinks that his designs are going to be copied and photographed and worn by celebrities bla bla bla. It's ok for Phoebe because high-street stores actually do copy her designs and pretty closely so she has a good reason to do this, unlike Tom.
That is where you are wrong.
Editors who shoot the clothes have seen them, and shot them. Those images will be in magazines just in time for the clothes to arrive in stores.
Buyers have placed their orders, and the clothes will arrive in stores. Rather than having seen the clothes way back in June, only to wait five months for the clothes to hit the sales floor, the images are released en masse closer to the date the clothes will be available for purchase. Much less time for the consumer to become bored with them, and considering how much new product consumers expect to be greeted with when the walk into a store, it is a smart move.
OK.
However, it isn't solely about who is going to copy the designs. See my post above, and I think it makes perfect sense; for both brands.
Yes, perhaps you are right, but then this would apply to the shows too? The delays are similar for the clothes to arrive to the shops.
