Camilla Belle

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh her interviews...video and written. and the fact that when she ATTEMPTS to act...the only emotion that is conveyed, is hollow, shallow, emptiness.

i'm not saying you have to be a genius to be a good actress...or that terrible acting skills equates to stupidity...BUT, when people are naturally intelligent or have some kind of wit (even common sense), they do not throw themselves into a career that requires at least a moderate amount of talent (of which they have none). and then on top of that shortcoming...she has done nothing to enhance her skills (if she has, then it isn't showing).

it's really naive (and inane) of her to think her looks are enough to carry her through. she should either admit that she has no hope in acting and retire from victimizing our eyes ever again (while she still has an ounce of dignity left). or she needs to get off her pretentious *** and start working, studying, researching the art of acting.

and if somebody is going to ask me why i called her pretentious...her blasé attitude towards her craft (and her indulgence of high-end fashion while doing nothing to deserve it) is enough evidence of pretentiousness.

i rest my case. now who agrees with me?

Sheesh. I thought this was the style section, not an Op-Ed for your anti-Camilla rant.

She is working. She has 4 films in the works: "Father of Invention," "From Prada to Nada," "After the Wedding," and "Mary Mother of Jesus."

Anyways, I love her outfits. She's been quite busy with all these Pre-Oscar events.

I thought she was pretty good in The Ballad of Jack and Rose. I initially thought that she wasn't a very good actress and that she'd get outacted by the masterful Daniel Day-Lewis, no question. Instead, she actually held her own against him!

you guys i'm not hating on her. i'm trying to give my honest opinion. she has one of the most gorgeous faces and bodies in hollywood. but my point was that you can't have it all. and it's silly for her to think shes ever going to be well-received in the acting world by just having a pretty face.

i'll hold my tongue until her next batch of 4 movies comes out (straight to dvd...). hahah seriously her performances in Push, 10000 BC, and when a stranger calls were enough to gouge my eyes out. horrific.

also...if she did get into columbia and/or princeton, i'm not the slightest bit impressed. her parents are rich, well-known...she has a famous name. it's honestly not hard to get into ivy leagues if you've attended a private school. i know that 50% of my graduating class got into ivy leagues based on lackluster SAT scores and average gpa's. but the fact that their application had a stamp from one of the best private schools in america, was enough to gain admission. so please don't be awe-struck by her supposed brilliance simply because she got into columbia or wherever. p.s - columbia is the easiest "ivy" to get into anyway.

but, lovvvvve her white dress at the pre-oscar party. i wonder if she has a stylist? does anyone know? and i also wonder what skin products she uses. her skin is flawless.

How do you know her parents are rich. I thought her father had a construction company and her mother is her manager and her stylist.

starsid33 is assuming her parents are quite rich because of the fact that her father owns a company and I agree with her that her background sounds good therefor - usually people who own companies are doing quite okay - it's not like her parents were waiters at McDonald's (not that it would be something bad, just that unfortunately it's not a well paid job)

I don't know Camille Belle personally and from what I have seen of her until now makes me think that she is extremly beautiful and as to have some talent to be given the chance to be in movies - and she did quite okay playing opposite Daniel Day-Lewis IMO - I like her

That last dress (the Chanel one I think?) is sooo pretty!

hahaha...wowww...you just answered your own question. construction company = loaded. i guess i shouldn't assume everyone knows about how lucrative different businesses are. i thought it was common knowledge.

also she did interviews for the disney movie Rip Girls a long time ago. and she said her parents helped her get into the industry because they are really well connected. and that they have tons of family friends in showbiz. she also said she was blessed with a privileged upbringing (i.e. good private school, comfortable living).

come on you guys, dont try to defend some random chick you hardly know. i'm just going with the facts here. i give praise where its due.

starsid33 I was agreeing with you: :) relax.
her parents are quite rich because of the fact that her father owns a company and I agree with her that her background sounds good therefor - usually people who own companies are doing quite okay

i don't have to defend her - i just find her pretty, nice, and think she has a great fashion sense which is why she obviously is quite liked here in this forum!

and there was an interesting interview with her 1 year ago in the Nylon Magazine which I liked because she seemed really down to earth friendly and the interviewer really pointed out that she seemed quite smart:

I think that she doesn't really open up in her interviews and say very much. You don't ever come out of reading or seeing her interviews knowing any more about her personality. She answers generically but that is probably because she doesn't want people to know about her. Maybe she is smart about that. Because of the Joe Jonas thing I see her more as a very nice, very virtuous boring girl. If in reality she is a party girl and more out there, it would shock me.

She and Kate Bosworth are the same for me. Both beautiful girls who show up at the opening of an envelope impeccably dressed in designer clothes but I can't name a single film between the two of them that I've enjoyed or seen evidence of strong talent. Neither has accomplished much in their chosen profession but they are everywhere with nothing to promote.

Camilla no doubt has great style and that is what counts on this thread. Her skin is also flawless. She seems to have access to every designer she wishes despite not being near A-list talent. I do love her Old Hollywood look compared to her peers.

jomarlushka - sorry, i didn't meant to sound like i was attacking you...just skimmed that interview you posted...and i guess it's never nice to outwardly judge people. so since i dont know her personally, i cant really talk about her character. at the same time, i dont think we can assume shes intelligent because she uses words like "fathom" and keeps a low profile hahah. you know what i mean?

loladonna - thats a good parallel. although perhaps kate bosworth has more talent. she was really good in "girl in the park". even if the role didn't require too much intensive acting practice. but, that is so true about both of them! they are everywhere with nothing to promote.

camilla has great style compared to her peers...she has been giving that opportunity of good stylists and i'm sure good role models (her parents). and so she didnt get caught up in trashy young hollywood. i hope she reveals more in later interviews though...because that would make people view her in a different light than the current "pretentious, somewhat snotty" image.

You truly shouldn't judge a book by its cover... I don't doubt Camillia is taking full advantage of being a celebrity by going to these events, but to say she's completely dumb and should quit Hollywood is going to far. Who knows maybe her upcoming films will make her more legit in people's eyes.
Besides who says that everyone is Hollywood should be naturally talented anyways? I agree with you on one point hard work + intelligence usually equals success, but I completely disagree that Camilla isn't capable of making it in Hollywood.

She got into Columbia University, for heaven sake!

the op wasn't judging her just by her looks, she was talking about her interviews etc...

Also, getting into university means nothing or shows nothing about a persons 'intelligence' when they are celebrity.

You stated your opinion. But we do not have to agree with you. So lets just agree to disagree and leave this thread to discussing her style

this girl is soo beautiful...it's a shame that she don't get more cover or ed in magazine..:(
