WE'RE not allowed to tell you whether or not Cara Delevingne has landed her first leading role in British film Kids In Love, but if speculation this morning is true then the project is almost certainly in its early stages. No news of the film has been recorded on IMDB yet, and the rumoured director Preston Thompson is yet to confirm the rumours.
The plot is said to focus on a group of affluent young Londoners whose lives centre around drugs and parties. Apparently, filming will start in September at Ealing Studios - which is owned by Thompson's father.
Delevingne has often talked about her desire to pursue a film career - she even jokingly recorded an audition tape for VogueTV, calling for Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino and Steven Spielberg to hire her. She made her big screen debut in last year's Anna Karenina, appearing alongside Keira Knightley.
Regardless of whether the rumours are true or not, anyone who's seen Delevingne cosying up to Pharrell Williams in the September issue of Vogue will be convinced of her ability to shine in front of the lens. Maybe she'll convince Pharrell to appear in the film, or perhaps she'll ask her friend and ultimate wild party child Rihanna to make a cameo. Either way, we'll bring you the latest official updates as soon as we're able to tell you them.
