^ I totally agree with LolaSvelt! carey or gabourey should win - meryl already has oscars though i have to admit i haven't seen the julia/julie film and neither have i seen sandra bullock's performance in her movie but I have watched an education and precious and their performances are outstanding - and i have to admit that i never liked bullock as an actress though i think she's cute

^I don't think Meryl shouldn't win because she has Oscars. If she deserves it, then give the Oscar to her. But in this case, her performance was merely an imitation, nothing more. I thought Sandra Bullock was great in Infamous. In The Blind Side? Not so much.

She's wonderful and lovely, and clearly very talented, BUT!

I watched and enjoyed An Education, and thought it was hardly Oscar-worthy!

It was a good performance, but it didn't bowl me over with pure emotion or anything, so I don't get the indignation and the sentiment that Meryl or Sandra somehow doesn't deserve it too

* Huge congrats for the nomination though, I see big things for Carey
