Lurve Magazine Spring/Summer 2014
models.com
Lurve Magazine‘s next era kicks off with a stellar issue with a fresh perspective on fashion. Editor in chief Lyna V. Ahanda, new fashion director Moreno Galatà and fashion editor Alessandra Conti create an issue focused on a modern interpretation of 90s style fashion photography. Bringing all the raw energy and individualism that defined the 90s aesthetic back into the mix is an inspired move and one that makes each editorial feel vital.
The issue’s six covers take the theme head on with a diverse lineup of models & photogs; reportage photographer Olivia Arthur shoots model Adwoa Aboah in Louis Vuitton; while Lily McMenamy sports Céline in a stylized shot by Sonia Sieff. Queen of cool Caroline de Maigret shows another side in an elegant image by Alessio Bolzoni, Robbie McKinnon sports a brush and stacks of vinyl in his cheeky cover by Edmund Aves. The always chic Elisa Sednaoui is serene in Prada in her cover by Laurence Ellis (Visual Artist UK ) and Hanne Gaby Odiele delights in a striking image by Dario Catellani (Paris: ArtList Paris, New York: ArtList NY)
Inside the content is every bit as compelling as the covers, with an array of contributors providing exciting new edits that adhere to that avant garde 90s spirit. Each story is special in its own way, but famed street photographer Nick Turpin providing his first fashion work, shooting Neelam Johal in a museum setting is a bonafide moment.
