Carolyn Bessette Kennedy

I noticed Gwyneth Paltrow copied many of Carolyn Bessette's looks in some pics. the similarity is uncanny.

Wow, that is uncanny although Carolyn owns the looks IMO. They look natural on Carolyn...

I think Gwyneth's style and Carolyn's were similar, but overall I don't think she intentionally copied her. Carolyn's style was minimalistic too so it's easy to take her ideas and add it to your own style.

I also love this look on Carolyn, this suit is so vintage looking and since Carolyn has a classic look, it was perfect. Although she does wear black a lot, it is not boring because she added a few genius touches such as the leather clutch, black gloves and fur collar. It's one of my favorite outfits that she wore.

Lady in Fur

On December 7th of 1997, John and Carolyn came back to Milan to attend the opening night at the prestigious Teatro alla Scala.
Carolyn looked truly sublime that night, wearing a sophisticated suit (can you tell it's Yohji's work?), short gloves, a smart cap and the cherry on the cake, a luxurious fur scarf.
Carolyn looks straight out of the 40s, and I say that in the best way possible as it is one of my favourite decade style-wise, and there is nothing dowdy about the way she does retro. Even the way she plucked her eyebrows evokes the femme fatales from the Film Noir era.
There is a distinct old world and old money sophistication about her whole presentation. It was commented that Carolyn looked and dressed in a very European fashion and to me it was never truer than that night at the Opera.

^This explanation says it all, it's also another one of my top favorite outfits Carolyn wore.

oh it's no problem  She has so many good looks that it's kind of tiring sometimes but it's all worth it!

she was definitely one of the people who really influenced me back in the day

Those are two of my favorites as well, the all black outfits with the fur, and the one with the beret....just gorgeous, classic and simple, but with those brilliant added touches of texture: fur, croc, etc...and of course the red lips.
I STILL get inspired every time I look at her pictures. Just change the shape of the shoe or the size of the sunglasses, and it all still works today. Timeless.

I love how she could wear simple staples/the bare minimum with makeup and look like a million bucks.

Imagine what their children would've looked like.

On a sidenote, did she dye her hair, or was she a natural platinum blonde?
