I met Bret Easton Ellis today at a book Q&A/Reading/Book Signing. He seemed either very nervous or incredibly uncomfortable (particularly during the Q&A). However he was very very nice to all the fans. It still hasn't hit me yet that I actually shook his hand

I have only met John Mayer (singer) and he was a bit cocky.

I met/briefly encountered him around the start of the year. Was talking into cell phone loudly, carrying shopping bags, coming out of an apartment in SoHo. I smiled at him, he just stared with his scary big-bug eyes. Freaked me out.

I won tickets to see Backstreet Boys on Sunday and then I'm also gonna "meet them"... That was included in the prize. I can then tell you how it went, if someone is interested.

My entire life is dealing with "celebrities".
It's not at ALL interesting....
I think the world should not worship celebrity the way it does...
my friends are all the same creatures..celebrity or otherwise.

^ yea i agree with you there. Living in new york i'm hardly ever star-struck. I saw Kevin Bacon a few days ago in a park next to my school. he looked like a scraggly heroin addict but i still think hes hot for some reason haha. He was just sitting on a bench watching people walk by. I also see Julia Stiles alot in Soho and by this bagel shop by my school haha. One night my friend was really drunk and we saw her and i was like " hey its julia stiles...again!" and my friend goes " omg hey Julia Roberts!!" and Julia gave her the dirtiest look lmao. She's a cool person though from what i know.

By " my life is dealing with "celebrities" I mean exactly that.
My friends...my work...my family....many of the aforementioned are considered "celebrities".

I work for my mom who is a designer(Kati Stern/Venexiana), I grew up with celebutante kids in nyc...(amongst my school chums growing up were model Natane Adcock, DJ/Producer Mark Ronson, Director Michele Civetta, Mia Tyler, Sean Lennon..etc ) and
the man I share my life with is in a successful band(Elefant)....

I have page six fodder at my sunday bbq's but it's just amusing....
"celebrities" are just regular friends, family members, etc...
Normal people.
It's just strange to see them sensationalized in the way that they are when
in real life they are the chum who crashes on your sofa and watches
Fellini flicks with you.

I also think it's unfair the way they are scrutinized...
It causes so many friewnds of mine such unnecessary and unfair stress.
like I said, they are just regular people.

i had coffee with ashton Kutcher a few yrs back..hes as obnoxious(sp?) as he is on punkd or that 70s show, went out with bill mahr a few times(not a date) hung out with vince vaghn (super funny cute) at a club called nacional- saw lots of celebs at the holloween playboy bash a few weeks back n had a very famous guy hit on me..hehe..cant tell u who..p.s. i do have lots of celeb frnds (thats what happens if u live in LA) n most of them r really normal...even less snobby that ppl would consider i am..

I live in HK so there are hardly any celebs but i have seen Jackie Chan at a chinese restaurant...he was around 5'5/6 and surrounded by bodyguards
