Hopefully this isn't a copy of a thread i just posted (it seems to have complete disapeared!)

Either way, I'm looking for a bag to use as a briefcase (I hesitate using that word, it conjures up images of stuffy lawyers, but i can't find an alternative word) I have fallen in love with center handle bags, like the Pucci below:

Now, i'm not looking to spend $500, or I'd buy the Pucci! So any ideas on other similarly handled bags? It doesn't need to hold an entire office (i'm a tiny girl, it would look strange) just a good number of file folders and the like. Thanks!

I would warn against using a bag like this as an office bag. Especially if you need to fit folders, if you put anything of even moderate height in one of these bags they will be impossible to cary. As far as other options, my first thought would be an Hermes garden party, but that is not within your price range. Have you looked at classic Vanessa Bruno totes with sequined handles? They are nicely sized, appear rather durable, and priced well. They have them at scoopnyc.com.

oohh love that metallic bag! I was hoping to get a new "look" from a bag this summer (which is why i was leaning towards the center handle) but if it won't carry much then it certainly isn't a good choice (thanks MJ!) and thanks to everyone else for the ideas, keep 'em coming! :flower:

^ I've been lusting after the black Furla bag for a loooong time. that's kinda small though...i mean, not long enough to fit files or folders.

I always feel that this would make a great bag for holding documents.

I really hate those cut out handle bags, they look very cheap. The one ChelseaGirl posted is really nice, it's because the handle looks like seperate entity.

both LV's are stunning--Ive been working on my boyfriend for months to get one of them for me :)

With a nod to elegant forties style, Louis Vuitton presents a sweet new shape in Monogram Vernis. The curved top closes with golden LV snaps, while a natural cowhide-lined oval opening serves as the handle.
