Chic Laptop Bags

I would recommend spending your money on something that will protect your notebook the best, and not what looks the cutest. But if you can find both in one package, then I say buy! [Then email me with the details! :)]

here's a site with some pretty nice ones.. they cost around $160..but compared to the $500 one that someone posted..160 is not that bad! and its really cute..plus, its a real laptop bag so it should have sturdy construction..

i thought they were overpriced..esp since u can find leather ones for half that price.. but either way, i guess i'll just get one of these!

I usually just carry my PowerBook in a neoprene sleeve inside a "real" bag, but my latest 17" PB doesn't fit in any of my bags because it is too wide... Well, it fits inside my largest one, which is more of a weekend trip/gym bag kind of size. There's no way I'll be carrying that every day!

Soo, since it's so hard to find good-looking laptop bags I'm making my own. It'll be very simple; haven't worked out the exact design yet.

I already bought black calf skin (I think... cow of some kind!), stiff linen and glue to stabilize it, beeswax and thread and so on. Now I need to find some kind of strap and some hardware. It seems to be hard to find anything but nylon straps and cheaply finished metal/plastic hardware, but I haven't given up yet!

Wish me luck with my project!

Carrying Case for Apple PowerBook (15")

Hello...just wanted to ask for recommendations for a nice carrying case for an Apple 15" powerbook.

Fellow tFSers, what do you use?

:flower:

I would buy a neoprene laptop sleeve and just carry it in my regular bags! Messenger, backpack, briefcase or whatever. That's the easiest and cheapest way if you already have bags it would fit in; also the nicest IMO since dedicated computer bags aren't that stylish most of the time... There are exceptions but they are very rare.

I have a huge Prada briefcase to carry my 17" PowerBook. This one, but in black:

i just purchased a laptop and i was using a neoprene sleeve and just slipping it into my backpack but i wanted a bag/backpack with a built in neoprene sleeve so i bought this. it's very compact and fits my 15" laptop and my school books and my other electronic doo dads....
i like that it converts from a backpack to a side bag.

Work Bags, Laptop Bags

I don't think there is an existing thread for this. I have been using a Langchamp tote for years, but it's not that great for carrying a laptop. The Balenciaga office bag is also really great, but won't work for a laptop. I'd love to hear opinions of what work bags are really great, both for laptops, and just for other work stuff.

Thanks for the links. Those bags are all really nice, but they are all look like something someone in the design field would carry. I'm a soon-to-be History Professor, so I was hoping for something a little more conservative, yet stylish. And nothing that will make me look too much like one of my students (I already have that problem where I get confused for a college student). I'd love something in brown leather, with a long strap.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

there are several laptop bags.. I'm going to merge them all and fix the title :flower:

What size is your laptop screen? (I find it hard to find any nice laptop bags for my 17" screen! What a giant!)

MacBooks have a 13-inch screen, MacBook Pros are 15 or 17.
