jennifer's explanation (which seems odd to me), is "cerf" refers to the ccs. what's even stranger is many SAs don't call it the cerf and if you ask for it, they act like you're crazy.

I don't think they are that hard to get hold of.. I always see them displayed in the Chanel store, except in black i haven't seen that in a really long time.

you can't get them on-line but they are readily available at chanel boutiques and department stores that carry chanel. but you will have a harder time finding the original one with the gold cc's which was the spring/summer 05 version -- the one with the rhodium closure is the fall 05 version. I think they recently raised the price of the large from $1600+ to $1800+. don't know how much the shorter version is.

I'm sure you'll find them somewhere! Actually it's really easy to get them in stores, but if you want online I saw one on iOffer. But it was long time ago. You should check www.ioffer.com

i don't know if you guys have seen the new larger cerf in person (same size as the older version but different clasp and interior) but it is sooooo gorgeous. i gave in and bought it this morning. i was going to get the one with the gold CCs but this one is so much more modern and a bit younger looking. i love it love it love it!!

julie, will you be posting a pic of your new bag? I just love the new white one that is posted without the cc closure. I just love the new closures . BTW, what color did you get?

I'm going to try to post a picture soon. My sister borrowed my digital camera but hasn't returned it yet so when I get it back, I'll post pics. I got the large version of the new cerf (same size as the older one with the gold CCs) in black and I love love love it.

julie, will you be posting a pic of your new bag? I just love the new white one that is posted without the cc closure. I just love the new closures . BTW, what color did you get?

Balbabe: Mine just says "Grand shopping" on it, but when I walked in the store, I just asked for the cerf and the SA knew what I meant- it also helps to describe it (I just said it was a medium size tote with a small rectangular clasp (or CC clasp if you prefer the older version)) - Hope this helps!

klow, the SA you referred me to in the sydney boutique (sylvie? sophie?) knows it by "cerf tote." she's the one who told me that it's not made of deerskin.

Yes lily sophie is the SA I normally contact with I thought that if they are not getting any soon I would try to get it from overseas that why the style number always come-in handy. But I guess I could tell them the new cerf.

The shorter new cerf, which I have, is called Petite Shopper. That's what it's written on the box.

weird, because I've seen lots of real ones there! Probably, most of them are knock-offs but there are authentics ,too, so ...

The name on tag is: large tote bag (30 cm)
This number is below: 94305

Thanks dgie, the old cerf style number is A15206 but the new one I think it would be A2929?. I'm not sure about the last digit tho ..have to find out.
