my preference for the gold cc's is so clear, I have to say return it. but I'm obviously biased and it all comes down to what you like. you wanted the gold cc one initially but then you changed your mind and got the rhodium, right? that alone tells me you prefer the rhodium.

Will the cerf with the glod cc clasp be around this fall? Can anyone please confirm?

^ Sophie has confirmed that Chanel Australia will not stock any of the cerf new/old version.
So I hope that I would be able to locate one from US or Paris at the end of next month and hope that they will ship overseas. Yes the season here is opposite from US we are getting some of the styles a few months after you guys but some style we are getting quite quick like the lambskin hobo they already have them since the begining of the month.

.so here's a new theory about the leather: yet another chanel SA told me the original (which she called the cerf) is definitely made of deerskin, but the new one (not called the cerf) is not. but she admitted they look exactly the same except for the clasp.
I saw one of the new black "cerf" totes at the Neimen Marcus store in Palo Alto last week. It's absolutely beautiful and I strongly considered buying it, but for $1650 before tax I wanted handles that will work on my shoulders and the new one doesn't have that.

You can't wear this tote on your shoulder
?Laurie Ann, I don't know which one you're referring to, the smaller or bigger, but I have the smaller, have no problems carrying the bag on my shoulder. Unless you mean a longer shoulder strap, then yes, the new one doesn't come with it.
LaurieAnn: Neimans decided not to carry the larger (same size as old one that Ashley Olsen is carrying in that pic) version of the new cerf, but Chanel in SF does carry it- I think they have a few left in the black. I would try them- it's 1850 before tax.

the large size of the "city chic" ot whatever you want to call it is identical to the original cerf so you shouldn't have a problem carrying it over your shoulder. I haven't actually tried on the smaller city chic, but the handles look long enough to me. which is why doing away with the strap isn't a big deal.
