I think I know which bag you're referring to with the stiched "CC"s. If it's the same one, it's much more square and smaller than the cerf with the gold ccs and is made from a stiffer leather (or at least is a stiffer looking bag). It's not a seasonal bag.

if it's the one in quilted caviar leather with large stitched CCs on one side and chain straps, there are pics earlier in this thread.

as for the cerf, take heed that many SAs don't know it by this name so be prepared to describe it or even better, bring a picture!

i dont think we are talking about the same bag.
you are probably referring to the quilted CC bags with chain straps...no?
the one i saw was larger than the cerf

i tried to find a pic, but i couldnt..
but i got some pics from ebay that might explain things better..

the bag i saw is similar to the ivory bag posted, but with larger CCs like the black bag. size-> think a bit larger but flatter than cerf. its also not as structured as the cerf. hope this helps

That's the one I was referring to (not the one with gold chain handles). It's pretty easy to find- I think it's part of their standard collection.

You're right. I think it's the same size as the cerf, but because the shape is different, it seems smaller to me.

i saw the new cerf today at neimans (sooo beautiful ) -it's about 2 inches shorter than the older version - the SA said they're still selling a few of the older ones (with gold CCs) but only in brown. do you any of you know where i can get the new ones in a taller size? someone mentioned in a previous post that s/he saw the newer ones in the regular and in the shorter size. please help- i want a taller bag but in black.

Same here. I'm also looking for the older version. I need something that can hold my notebook for work and the new design is just too small. The Chanel boutique here only has a pink cerf in the older design.

I recently saw the original cerf in dark brown and black at the chanel boutique in san francisco.

and each boutique is able to search the inventory of all the boutiques in the us (including hawaii) so yours should be able to locate it for you (and if they find it and you pay for it at your boutique in person, the shipping cost is waived). if you get a helpful SA, he/she will call around and find it for you.

You ladies in the US are so lucky. In this part of the world where I am, there's only 1 Chanel boutique. If only there is such a thing as international inventory transfer between the boutiques.

btw, the latest explanation I've received as to what the cerf is made of is caviar leather stamped to look like deerskin. but it's not actually deerskin as many of us were led to believe. and now that I have a deerskin bag, I'm beginning to think the cerf is just a variation of caviar calfskin. the cerf leather isn't nearly as soft. the controversy continues . . .
