Chanel F/W 12.13 by Karl Lagerfeld

This is the first time ever Chanel has more than three girls casted for its campaign.

Looks like a lookbook. Expect much more from Chanel

Quite boring but honestly i dont really expect much from this house when it comes to campaign. What exciting is who was cast to be in it.

Did he shoot these before the Resort? Because either way, Lindsay's Wig has been recycled.

I'm seriously appalled by this campaign. Those wigs! That styling! That photography! That casting! Did they recycle those wigs for the cruise show or was this shot right after it (so it seems...). And then you have Alice Dellal.
I'm seriously hoping there will be more models. Daria S, Aymeline, Saskia could actually make this decent, but even then this would be a total bore.

The Karl+Carine combination has officially ruined Chanel for me.

This is awful. It looks so uninspired and so outdated, but what annoys me most about this campaign is that it is trying far too hard to be iconic. Actually, ever since Carine came on board, the campaigns have felt very forced and have resulted in lacklustre results.

I miss the campaigns when they had a different, shall we say more magical, creative direction ie the Spring 2010 or Spring 2011 campaigns.

The first picture looks terrible. I think they went beyond the concept of minimalism and it just looks so trashy and hate to say this, cheap. The big Chanel font doesn't even help. This would even pass as a lookbook than a campaign.

I love to see how K. Lagerfeld is burying C. Chanel's legacy under ugly dresses and bad taste. I don't get why he's still in the map.

The only good thing about this campaign is Cora Emmanuel and Lindsey Wixson. The rest are awful.

Everyone complaining about Carine's involvement: it's not like Chanel campaigns were doing any better before she came along. Those ads, circa 09-11, were dreadful. They had this overreaching cinematic feel that made the images look more editorial-like than ad-worthy.

Let's not forget that last season's campaign was stunning.

I would never define these ads as great but to pinpoint the mess solely on Carine is unseemly.

I seriously thought that this was a catalogue image when i first looked at it. Its so annoying though as i was hoping Kati would get Chanel, and we get this......

it seems that Karl still doesn't learn that he has to stay away from the studio, i think that his campaigns shot outdoors are usually pretty decent even great but this is just so bad..

I don't really have a problem with the styling.. its the art direction and photographer that should be questioned.. ESPECIALLY the photographer.. Karl needs to fire himself and just hire someone decent at their job

I think it's a pretty good concept and I don't hate this ad campaign, but this just isn't what I connect with Chanel. I also don't think it does much justice to the clothes. The shots don't look too much like a campaign to me, more like an editorial out of a hipster-esque magazine.

I actually don't have a problem with the styling. The problem is in the casting. If he hired girls like Linda or Claudia, everyone would react differently.
