She is doing her usual tricks but I think that she doesn’t have any vision for her work at Chanel.
She has styled the campaigns for 7 years now in a very hits/misses way but there’s nothing indicative of a real vision.

When you saw the campaign Alt did, it was clear. Simple styling, sexy girls, natural hair...etc

With Alex White, it was more romantic, more story-telling oriented...etc.

It’s a pity because Carine styled some Chanel campaigns in the early 00´s. I remember she did one with MCB styled as her and it worked.

I feel like she is collecting her checks and that’s it.

I stumbled upon this campaign by chance. What surprises me most is that Carine has never been credited in any of these campaigns. I was also wondering, since they are mentioned, what campaigns Alt and White had managed

Reliving this collection is borderline physically painful. Such a gorgeous show, from soundtrack to set to clothing to ad campaign. I miss Karl so much.

You have to admit, even though it was just shot in the studio, the clothes themselves are beautiful. They still manage to convey a sense of power. Years from now, people will certainly remember Karl, but I doubt anyone will recall a certain lady with the surname starting with 'V'. As for Matthieu, it all depends on his luck and vision, I just hope he manages to bring something fresh to the table.
