ooooooook??!! who would wear that outfit in the tennis picture and the black blouse to the left of it?? it's too nice looking to get all sweaty and gross in, not to mention uncomfortable. I can see only really snobby and rich people who just go to the gym to chit chat and show off wearing this stuff.

who else would ever spend those terrible amounts of money on sportswear? i think that the kind of people you described is just the ones this is for.

P.S: your post made me think of the devil wears prada (book, not movie) when the main character is asked to go to chanel and pick up a pair of white tennis shorts for miranda priestly, the devil

this is really just like dior...

there's two sides of chanel...

the good: tweed taileurs, maestry in cut and craftmanship, couture shows, massaro shoes, karl lagerfeld

and the evil side: logos, sportswear, surf boards, the commercial-rich-teen-stuff

a clear example: paris-biarritz collection: where good side are the croc bags, and the evil side are those 3000 € non-leather bags

as i said, same thing for dior, the good side: couture, galliano, the suits, gaucho bags... and the evil: all-over logo bags, all-over logo jeans, all-over logo tees, all-over logo teddy bears... and on and on

as obvious as these pieces remain, there's a certain charm about these items and they're fully in line with the sporty spirit of coco chanel herself. i tend to think these items will get purchased by a very particular set of middle eastern oil heirs, the new russian billionaires, and the whimsical set found in cities like sao paolo and south beach. further, i could see many of these exclusive resorts tucked away in the middle of the pacific or carribean or mediterranean stocking their gyms with this stuff...
