She looks sad and he looks pissed. I'm mortified, there is something really off about this wedding. But at least she looks pretty. Not like a glowing bride, but pretty.

Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco visited the Cape Town township of Masiphumelele on Friday 8 July 2011 to announce her patronage of the Giving Trust. Along with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a South African icon, she says she intends using her royal status to help the hundreds of thousands needy people in her homeland. The Princess enjoyed lunch with staff and the Tutu and was presented with a rag doll as thanks for her visit

She rocks. Already getting down to work (even if she did pre wedding as well). It's great that she was able to forge such a great relationship with Desmond Tutu and she looks really really happy in SA. You can see that Africa is her home. I hope she'll be able to bring some "fraicheur" to Monaco. I really really can't wait to see how she'll engage herself further and how her "Monaco fashion week" desire will materialize !

The Terrence bay dress is indeed gorgeous and a great wait to forcast African designers. I am really thrilled to see that those 2 had the perfect "mixed" wedding and P. Albert seems to be pround to have joined the South African family :). Makes me wish it was the case for the other royalties esp in Denmark (Alexandra from HK and Mary from Australia came into my mind!)

I don't think Charlene looks unhappy at all. In fact, she looks like her title: Serene. In that interview on her wedding day, and every time I see or hear of her she comes across and gracious and involved. I think this Princess will continue to do great things.

It's really great that she's still involved with charities, she actually seems really caring and interested to do something that counts.

Exactly. And I love the fact that she was involved way before being married or even meeting Prince Albert. She is going to be a fabulous addition to the family and I can't wait to see the way she'll manage her new role. I am really excited to see her work, more so than the Duchess.

Wow! That is magnificent!

Are she and Albert still in South Africa? Or are they officially honeymooning? The pics just seem to have dropped off.

I finally got a chance to youtube the civil and religious ceremonies. It doesn't translate well in photographs, but Charlene's blue suit looked so pretty in motion. And I loved how she beamed and beamed!

As for the wedding dress, I was suprised by how easily she moved in it. I'm one of the few who loves the double train effect, but it's looks heavy, even in stills. But she made it look easy! Also, I was more able to appreciate the details that aren't always captured in photographs: the way the shoulder wrap eases into the train and the embroidery details. She looked exhausted (which isn't surprising: Grace later said she was dead tired by the end of her wedding week from all the festivities) but happy. I also love the understatedness of her veil and hair brooch.

I was hoping to be able to hear more of her voice, and between both 15 minutes videos, I only heard about two short sentences. Disappointed!
