Chloe F/W 07.08 Paris

I also loved the use of mirrors on the tops and dresses, a nice way to make what appears to be a very hard-edged collection, more delicate :

style

I agree Kuba those are my favorite pieces of the show, as a whole I was dissapointed with the overall direction of the show but these pieces I just loved, the white top on Lily is so intricate and gorgeous and there was a dress just like the top Tanyas wearing that Im crazy about! Any HQ's yet?

Did i see marni here???
I have always prefered more edgy pieces, the pvc pieces are just my cup of tea. But having said that, we have lost another identity in fashion, how pity is that...

they can always go back... probably this is just a season change... however if the change is not economically positive, they will for sure react to that!
after so many designers, i think they have to finally decide what they are and focus on something... the babydoll worked for me...

hey hey :p i bet if nobody knew where this designer comes from, they would not be saying it is Marni. i don't think it is that close too Marni. the palette is all different, for one thing
it looks anyway that a lot of labels are changing their image. Marni's turning completely new too since '06, something more grown up and probably the same for Miu Miu

i love the new vibe
it is fresher and it is moving forward
no more of this retro stuff
(although i really liked it) and it is still young and girlish

wow, this not what i was expecting to see at all,
i wish Paulo Andersson would go back to Marni, they need it.

Chloe won't have any "it" bags this season! Do you see those bags?

Personally, I think that Chloe hasn't had an 'it bag' since the Paddington. I really don't like the Bay bag - it doesn't look cool or chic and it lacks that 'it' sensibility. It's quite ugly actually, the shape and the white trashy colour. :innocent:

actually it is retro in many ways

those dresses are straight out of mademoiselle 1965 with the futuristic looks.

i will give him benefit of the doubt since it his first collection but second time he better deliver the goods , and realize Chloe isnt about thinking and intellectualism , its about quick pretty stuff that will fly off the shelves , thing is chloe is heavily steeped in retro 60s/70s fashion and thats the aesthetic of the house and girls love it ! I have this intuition and im usually right that they are going to can his ***, I give him a season more.

At Last!!! Someone said it. I completely agree...

The Bay is not a bag I can get excited about

Although it was nothing spectacular, the spring collection left me with some hope for Chloe after Phoebe, but it is obvious with what was shown here, the designer is hoping to take the label in a completely different direction. I was devastated after Chloe's loss of Stella, but that turned out amazing, as I now have her label to add onto the list of my favorites. I am pretty sure that this time, though, Chloe will no longer be representative of the brand of cool I wish to subscribe to. It's so hard - where has all the delicate femininity and youthful sexiness gone? Pity. :(

I saw Chloe as the female equivalent of Dior Homme for men.

Meaning that both of them are such a rage, and both have such a distinct look. Everybody looked and looks like a DH or a Chloe clone. I couldn't imagine trying to get people to do something different and new cause they got so used to this specific look, and here it is now. Will people change?

Im so happy to see this new direction for Chloe. Its fresh, its different, I love it.

i guess it was more the colour in the ss '06 collection that made it look vintage
do you have these pages from madamoiselle? :p
they shouldn't be copying:ninja:

For the first time, Chloe becomes a melange of cute, pretty but also intelligent.

Although this collection might be a shift away from the obvious and cliched notion of 'prettiness', it stills maintains that girly attitude that the Chloe girl/woman is known for.

I'm glad that the new Chloe woman they are trying to push is intelligent. She's not blatantly 'cute' or 'pretty' - shes an enigma. The Chloe woman can finally put on the clothes and feel empowered and intelligent but still girly. This is to be applauded greatly - clothes that are wearable by people OVER the age of 25!
