Chloe S/S 06 Paris

maybe I haven't understood Chloe's 'style' yet, But this isn't so much Chloe to me, well it is in some way but still, seems strange.

i think it's more directly influenced by the phenomenal success of pilati's ysl at retail...
everyone seems to be trying to copy his formula...
because it is FLYING out of the stores...

this started off pretty badly imo... there are some good pieces in there...
but the best ones are the ones that remind me of ysl...:ermm:...
hmmm....
*and what about the shoes-lanvin much?!?...

though i LOVE the crochet socks/peds that criss cross...
...GREAT STYLING there!!...
It's true that YSL has had a lot of success at retail but hasn't Chloé also? I don't understand why Philo would have the need to copy Pilati's formula.

don't ask me why...ask phoebe......

but seriously...
she had to evolve...it was getting redundant already...
you have to give the people new stuff to buy...
and my best guess is that if you're going to go with a new formula...
you're going to go with a wining one...

it's just business...
but i don't really know why she did it..
it's just an educated guess...

^_^

I wish I could!

But yeah, I agree that she had to evolve. But many designers have done that while still staying true to their own style. Copying someone elses formula in my opinion isn't the way to boost sales but doing something original is. I really don't think this collection will sell very well, but that's just my opinion...

It's not my favourite Chloe collection, but its not bad - some of the pieces don't do much for me, but there are some that I adore :flower:

Thanx for the piccies guys. :flower:

Being a Chloe-fan, I'm surprised at how much I'm NOT digging it. I'm normally all for A-line shapes, baby dolls and pinafares, but some of them look like maternity dresses. The yellow x brown combo reminded me of Marni and some of the other pieces of Miuccia.
Maybe a couple of blouses but the rest...*grumbles* (I think I may be moving onto nina ricci...)

I agree with everything you said! Esp. about the 60s! ;)

I completely agree. The coat looks a totally different color in style's image, but I was jumping up and down with excitement. This is what I want my winter coat to look like

Imo it's a very good collection, considering I'm a sucker for 60's it's very very good. I'm glad Philo headed this direction. It's something different from complete rehashes from previous collections and it still fits Chloé.

i was thinking about how pretty this was the detailing and everything - but something struck me: it actually looks like the wet hair of a goldenretriever like dog  not something i would like to convey to anyone by watching

I agree with all the comparisons to YSL and Lanvin.

Pretty terrible through and through. There is hardly any design to speak of. It's as if she wrapped the fabric around the model and didn't care how they would fall or drape (witness the dress on Vlada). The resulting shape is unexciting, if not downright ugly. The lack of color and loose fit are like Stella McCartney part two, with a contrived vintagey twist.

I only like three looks:

i actually like it alot and would go as far as saying it is one of my favourites of the season!
Her "chloe look" we've been used to for the past few years has become tired and chain store so she really needed to move on. for the last 2 seasons when i looked at chloe i thought "nice" but it was pretty much expected- same colours, shapes, attitude. black, white, green, blue, beige

I think with this collection she has managed to keep the young, girly nonchalance which is chloe's underlying feel, and progress with it!
I Love it !
though i'd say it's more marc jacobs cross prada than lanvin or LV!

eh. not really doing much for me
only i love the black & cream wedges w/ties + lace ?!

Not what I was aniticipating, but still nice.

I love the outfits LibertyRose posted, along with a couple other dresses and a coat or two.

I like it. After the LV fiasco, is nice to see feminine, pretty clothes... I especially like the volumes, really nice :flower:

Beautiful! I love the detail on the dresses and blouses.... Gemma looks wonderful =)

Le défilé Printemps Eté 2006 de Chloé est une mode romantique. Pretty good and just romantic plus nice details.
