Chloe F/W 07.08 Paris

Theres one or two pieces I like but the rest of it really leaves me cold. I dont like any of the shoes and bags, or the hair and makeup. Like everyone else said I dont think this is chloe at all, I hope next season they come back to the chloe attitude.

it's so Marni to me..:ninja: Completely different from last season.
it's not what it used to be. But i do like some pieces:heart:

if they keep doing the tunic+embellishments=$2,000 thing, they are going to close the business sooner or later. it's not fashion. period.

i really like a lot of this...
the shapes are great...and that tangerine colour is so vibrant without being tacky or overdone....
the last dress on freja is lovely too.....

I completly agree with this, the chloe mini dresses are so overpriced. It's crazy how so many of them are 4-5k and the rest are like 2k.

There are some nice pieces but I don't get a fall/winter vibe at all!

That's what I thought, but I think the light-colored floor has a lot to do with it. Ambience plays a huge role in shows, and it's overlooked far too much. If it was a black floor it'd look a lot better.

Random thoughts I had looking at the full collection:

Inspirations: The boots are Marc Jacobs, the shoes are Jil Sander, the prints and colors are Marni, one of the skirts is Dior, some of the bags are Fendi and others are Balenciaga, and the necklaces are Chanel.

The dress with the long, vertical mirrored embellishments looks really cheap. The mirrors are barely held on by those little pieces of thread.

The wayfarer sunglasses are really well designed. The chunky frames make them seem a lot less retro and like that one scenester girl.

The clothes themselve look ok to me, Some of which are really pretty. The boots are ok but the Bags I think would be way to big for actual function. I think if actually used your arm would be pulled out of the socket.

a bit disappointed with this collection, i miss chloe in the old day. It's not that bad but i just feel i wasn't right for chloe

This is awful. The color palette is hideous, the pailettes look cheap, the makeup is ghastly, the whole attitude of the show is off. Even the models look disappointed.

I sincerely hope sales tank, and they'll be forced to make Andersson adhere more closely to Philo's philosophy, or else replace him.

There are so many great designers that would do a better job.

The runway presentation was held in a interesting place...

apart from the shoes, i think it's a lovely collection

Oh Phoebe, how I miss you.

And who on earth is designing bags/shoes at Chloe right now? Accessories are their cash cow at Chloe and I cannot see most of these bags / shoes selling. Dare I say it the bags look a little Fendi esque...

And that is not a compliment.

Exactly, Phoebe was the best... Silly, but I still hope she'll come back

I never really love Chloe shows, they're usually very wearable, and I think this is. But it does just seem like a continuation of Marni, and some of those shoe boots are exactly the same as Burberry S/S '07.
The black shift dress on Marina seems to shout 'Hey! This is still Chloe!', but other than that I'm not a fan of this collection.

I was thinking the exact same thing! :D ^_^

As many have questioned did he get his seasons mixed up or something?! This really doesn’t look like a winter collection at all!

Marni is usually a lot cooler than this and Chloé is usually a lot cuter. It’s like he made a watered down fusion of the two and picked out some shoes (as many have said) from Marc Jacobs.

I think Chloé was getting monotones (but then again I was never a fan) and I do think they needed a breath of fresh air… I just don’t know if this was the right guy for them.

The shoes are dreadful, the bags are boring…I’m definitely not a fan.:ermm:

I actually really like it! :D
I really feel this new direction, and it seems fresh compared to all the other collections shown so far!

I think it's a good idea to push things in this direction, away from the nostalgic girliness. I'm sure comes fall this will feel Chloe. The reactions in the S/S 06 collection thread was pretty much the same as this, but I think most of you would say that collection feels very Chloe today.

Regarding the shoes, hasn't clumsy platforms been their trademark for some seasons now? And as far as I know Marc doesn't yet own lace-up boots. Economically though, they'd better have a backup of easy-to-like shoes and bags for the masses...

True dat.

I'm not liking this, though. I don't mind so much that the color palette and prints are quite Marni, but some of the fabrics are just icky and I hate the chunky metallic sequins. And yeah, the shoes...
