Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

i'm on the hunt for a grey tote, if anyone has any leads i'd be most grateful!

the bronze looks really nice on rachel zoe. very subtle, like brown with a little zing. hmm. but I have a hard time concentrating on anything in that picture other than lindsey's birkin.

does anyone have pics of 2 Chloe silverado pythons side by side...

I wanna see comparison pics of the Chloe silverado python MEDIUM AND LARGE to compare.

Thanks!!!

we've had this discussion before and I don't think anybody has one (if I had known I would have taken pics of the medium and large naturla diamond ones I had for about 5 miniutes last spring). but to be honest, seeing them side by side isn't going to help much -- the large is just bigger. you need to try it on in person to know which ones suits you. barring that, check out the pics of lindsey lohan (with a large natural diamond) and nicole richie with the medium to get an idea of the different proportions.

well, can someone help with this then:

Chloe NY and Saks NY tells me: bronze medium is 2300 and bronze large is 2750

BUT my friend tells me at Neiman Marcus: silver medium is 2140 and silver large is 2400

Should there be a price difference like this???
I'm soo confused!!

I bought a bronze medium at NM - in the store - and paid about $2300. I then saw it on-line for $2140 and was quite unhappy. I am going to ask for a price adjustment but have not made it back to the store yet. generally the metallic silverados cost more - but I have no idea why NM is pricing the silver lower. If you look at the BG site, they had the medium silver for the higher price. So, if you want silver, buy at NM and save some $$!

where did you see the bronze medium for 2140??

I dont see the silverado pythons anymore at NM online.

I'm so confused by all this and the Chloe boutique was confused too!! =P

If anything, I'd think the silver and bronze would BOTH be same price cos they both have the metallic sheen to it.

A few weeks ago the bronze medium was on-line at NM. It reappears on the site intermittently. I agree that the bronze and silver should be the same price. I think someone at NM just screwed up the pricing of the silver.

There are certainly price differences between the various boutiques that stock Chloe and NM and other department stores, but they're all within striking distance of each other usually. I think your friend may have been slightly misinformed on her quotes (it sounds like the prices for the plain python colors) - in most stores, the medium non-metallics have been $2140 and the medium metallics have been about $2330.

As far as the size differences between the medium and the large...... as pointed out above, this has been discussed at length earlier in this thread - it really might help you more to go back and check out the various opinions and some pics that were posted. It might take awhile, but it will help you make a better decision. hth

are these the medium or large sizes, thanks!!!

lindsey has the large and nicole has the medium (I'm beginning to sound like a broken record).

im sorry :(

but thanks for clarifying that!

they just looked so similar in pictures and people tell me its a huge difference in person =P

but thanks again!!!

I think the difference between them is quite noticeable in those pics and consistent with the actual size difference (which is about 3-4 inches in width). lindsey's is significanty wider then her her hips. also, keep in mind that lindsey is taller than nicole, who is quite petite. and your friend is wrong and the chloe SAs are right about the prices. the prices your friend quoted are for the non-metallic python bags.

That's great - you got the bag and a $300 "discount"!

For the ones's that have the bronze, how is it for an everyday bag?

Is the colour to 'bling' and what colours can you wear it with except neutral black and white?

TIA :flower:

Hi, well I had the bronze up until this morning, as I decided to return it. The bag is gorgeous, however, in my opinion, I did find it a little too ''bling'' for me. There are times where I like to dress down, wear my sneakers, cool trackpants and a tank top-I just could not see the bag complementing such an attire.

Then there is the other extreme where I like to accessorize with ''bling'' (i.e. belts, jewellery, shoes...)-again, I found that it would be too much of a ''bling'' competition:flower: going on if I wore the purse. Hey, if you could work it in your wardrobe, go for it, as it is stunning.

I agree with the sentiments set forth above as well. It's less "bling" than the gold was and there are certainly people who could pull it off, but for me, it was too much and I returned mine. Like you mentioned, it looked over-the-top with everything except neutrals. Also, the contrast of the bronze and the brown leather (while stunning), just seemed to make it even more busy.

I also didn't care for the finish on the scales. Something about the metallic finish seemed to make them flake - the one I received was starting to chip off and the scales break if you touched them. I own several of the non-metallics and have no problem with any of them at all. I still think it's a pretty enough bag to look at, but not versatile enough to make me want to own it.
