Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

I did not think of the blue jeans with the blue. Red would probally be a better choice or brown. Thanks for your opinion.

I owned one briefly but returned it -- you can see pics I posted a few pages back.

I literally just came from the Nordstrom's at the Garden State Plaza in New Jersey. They have a large blue python there and I think it is amazing. It would look great with jeans. It wasn't out on the floor. I had to ask the SA for it.

I know this has been discussed before but can someone please clarify if the "Chloe" emboss on the strap, as per shown in Guessgirl96's two-tone brown Silverado, is a new recent feature to the bag? My Gold Python does not have the Chloe emboss and it came from Chloe New York....

I bought my brown one from a chloe boutique too and it doesn't have the 'Chloe' emboss on either sides of the bag....hmmmm

I am liking the silverdo now....too many bags to like too many decisions to make!:(

Some bags do have the "Chloe emboss' and some don't. Mines don't have either.

calisnoopy...CONGRATULATIONS!!! Fabulous, fabulous bag!!! Hope you'll have an even more fabulous time using it!!!

I've seen the Large Bronze recently. Although it is a fabulous colour, I'm finding it challenging to reconcile myself to it. Surprisingly...as I thought I'll be head-over-heels the minute I laid my eyes on it.

Also, saw the Large in Rouge (red), Caramel and Indigo Blue. I love the silverado. Hence I think the colours are all attractive. The Indigo Blue is luxuriously blue. I thought it looked heaps better than photos of it. Its a deep, rich blue which although may not be totally suitable for the silverado style, IS still a fabulous colour. On the Large, I think it's more special. However, for those who prefer the snakeskin to be more "real", they may find it unattractive due to the rubbery like appearance, as per pucci_mama's comments.

The Rouge was not too bad too. Although, I think, for a red bag, the Paddington Red may be a better option.

Ultimately personal preference should prevail. Do not fear getting a bag in a colour which may not be attractive to others if you find it attractive yourself. Go with your hearts, girl/s!!!

it's not new -- it's old. I think it's a summer color. I posted pics of it waay back. the plum roxanne you saw, was it in the glace or shiny leather? I've seen it in black (which was so shiny it looked patent), oak and plum and I can't I like it (especially in the black and tan which just looked wrong to me). sorry for the digression.

The plum was in the shiny leather. I think the leather will look better with age as the shine will gradually matify and the distressed look will set it. I was so enamoured with the colour, I overlooked to examine the shiny leather

That's what happen to me when I went to see the medium bronze. I think the bronze python skin shade is vary from bag to bag. The one I saw look a bit more dark copper than the bronze and when you look from afar it like a dark spot. Umm I don't know how to explain but cali ones just a nice shade of bronze.

thanks everyone...I have yet to bring it out (cos I buy so many handbags and I need to go out more so I can use them!!! HAHAHA)

I LOVE the bronze metallic color though and I find it very easy to match with my other clothing :)

Does anyone own the snakeskin blue bag or have you seen it? How is it? I was wondering how this would be with jeans. I am trying to add some color to my bags.

i saw the blue one in a largest size last week. i think its quite easy to match with jeans and causal wear. if it compares to the 2-tone brown phyton, i definitely will pick the blue one, much trendy and stylish.

but i still perfer a bronze and silver bronze phyton. i like the silver bronze sooo much!!

Ladies, I'm curious:

How long of a shelf-life do you think the Silverado has? I don't have that much expendable cash to buy new high-end bags every season so one piece will have to be an "investment" of sorts (read: last more than three seasons).

Well considering these bags first appeared during the Fall/Winter 2004 shows and they are still hot, proves they have staying power. Look at the Murakami LV line...within 6- months of appearing in the shows, most people were already sick of them.

I think if you get the bag in a traditional color, you can't go wrong. I was in Manhattan this weekend checking out the bags the street vendors are selling...saw lots of Balenciagas and Paddingtons, didn't see any Silverados. To me that says the market isn't saturated with Silverados yet. ;)

I also am inclined to think that there is less demand for the silverados, hence not a lot of them out in the street vendors' list of must buys :lol
ive been to 2 chloe boutiques and saw silverado pythons (2) on the floor. but no paddingtons or the vanity/ loaf bags .

Just wanted to chime in on the discussion. I recently bought two medium leather Silverados from NM, one in the brown leather and one in the red (same color and bronze hardware as the tote in post #1648 for reference).

I loved the leather for both of them, thick and very vintage-y looking, which I think is gorgeous given the styling for the Silverado.

I decided to return the brown and keep the red purely because the red just suits me, and I've been wanting a red bag for a while.

This thread has been great fun to read, thank you for all the great pictures!

Is your red like the one jessica is wearing? Her's is kind of an orangey red. I love that color, if there weren't so many other bags that I wanted I'd get another silverado in the red leather.

Would love to see pics of your new silverado :-)

The red color is the same (a sort of terracotta-ish red, if that makes any sense?), but my bag is the original Silverado in medium and hers is the silverado tote, I believe.

I will try to get a picture!
