Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

Also, if you are small (like everyone else on this board except for me....and I'm "normal" size) the large may be too big for you. B)

cougess, do you have the large silverado? can't decide now on size, since tht pic of sugars looks SO small and she seems petite. could you or anyone here compare the size of the medium and large to another bag?

Cougess, I am with you in the "normal" (I think) range. ;) 5'6" with no heels, 5'9" with and other "average" size dimensions. I like both the medium size silverado and doctor for daily and weekend use. I found the doctor fits me better as a shoulder bag... It is slightly larger than the medium silverado, but not as large as the large... :D

I don't know how I'd compare it to another bag, but I really think the large is too large. And I am very used to big bags! When I tried the large size on my shoulder, it was very longish and it looked silly on me.

By the way, Nordstrom in King of Prussia, PA had a lot of Silveradoes when I was there earlier tonight. If I remember correctly some of them were:

Large Python in Blue
Large Python in Black
Small Python in Bronze (?)
and various other non-python ones and possibly a few dr bags.

Most of the bags seemed in perfect condition considering the fact that they weren't kept behind the glass cases. They were just out on display for all to touch.

Actually, I'm 5'9 (over 6 feet w/ heels). Perhaps this pic gives you better perspective.

I purchased a large natural during the summer and found it too large (so I returned). I like large bags (e.g. I have two Spys), but the large silverado was too large as in "long" for my taste. In my opinion, the medium size best reflects the beauty & proportion of the Silverado.

A great look Sugar.

I had my tan Silverado (leather) shipped from King of Prussia and it arrived in perfect condition. To think a bunch of people touched my bag prior to me. :yuk: But wow, it was brand spankin' new and unscathed upon delivery.

Sugar - I love your bag and am glad to find out that there is another non-tiny person on this board! I think the medium is fine for daily use, unless you really need to carry around a lot of stuff. I have larges and mediums. The large is long, and I have not been using them that much. For a small framed person, the large will look huge. I think the medium doctor size is good because its a bit larger than the regular medium, but you do not have the long pockets on either side.

Perhaps yours had just come in? Or if it was a while ago, that was when they still kept them behind glass cases. Such a shame that they don't do that anymore though. There were 2 metallic python clutches (retailing for about $2400, more or less?) and the scales were absolutely horrid-looking. Completely peeling up and cracked on the front, revealing the black undersides. I don't know who will pay $2400 for something like that.

What do they do with bags that become damaged like that?

I think both look good on you..it really boils down to which bag you love!

If I were you, I'll keep the cognac ;)

Wow, they both look so great on you! My vote will be for the cognac though, as it is so rare. Plus, didn't you say that the python scales on the cognac were of better quality than the dark brown?

Yes i love the scale on the Cognac one... but on the leather part.. I think the dark brown one is much better condition.. Cos due to the age of the Cognac one and I believe that last owner didnt really care about her bags.. so... I feel the leather part are quite used to me.. but the python part is very fine since the python is very durable..

Strangely, the Python on the Cognac is much harder than the python on the dark brown...

I really dont know I should choose a better condition or better color.

I am kneeling towards getting the new doctors silverado bag style..but i was wondering which colours did they come in and what colours will the come in for the SS06?

Cherie love both bags....the colours are amazingly beautiful...you have a tough decision to make:) and both look amazingly great with your small frame and black outfit ( i am not making this any easier on you)...if it was me, i would pick the cognac though...because the colour is very different, its not a colour that i would see everday, it does catch my attention ( not that the brown doesnt) but as for the brown i have seen it before, and its nothing new...you would always find a brown in any designer..or style...but that cognanc is beautiful...it has a touch of burnt red which i love...

Thanks for the picture, Socal....think its the silverado is a Large...^_^

Cherie...like everyone, both the bags look great on you. The Large may be big but it has its unique big look. The Medium is more lady like while the Large is more casual. I've both a Large and a Medium. I find that I use the Large (Silver) more during the day and the Medium (Gold) more at night. Could be something to do with the colours..hmmm. Anyway, if I I'm feeling more casual I'll use the Large while on my more feminine days, I use the Medium.

As for colours, the Cognac seems more attractive...

But I get the feeling you may leaning towards the Large as it's in a better condition... I could be wrong...:)

Cherie - I prefer the Cognac, but I hae a love affair with that color!

As for size, I am 5'2" and find the large Silverado satchel is too wide and out of proportion for me. But I LOVE my chocolate leather tote! It is more square shaped versus rectangular and so easy to carry.

I am in the process of trying to locate a tan tote so I can exchange my medium tan leather satchel for it. If anyone has a lead please let me know!

I went to nodstrom today and they had lots of silveradoe's, they just recently started carrying chloe. They also had a few of the mini paddington hobos which were cute, but way too small. I tried on the doctor bag and I personally didn't like it much. They did have a gorgeous metallic python, in the large size though.

Roey -- I didn't see totes there, but I'm hoping you find the tan tote you are looking for! I  the tote shape.
