Christian Dior Resort 2012

It's funny how everyone's been wanting some change at Dior for some years now, but at least for me, this is not the change I wanted. The pieces here don't say Dior to me and they're not really anything special Dior or not.

It doesn't look like Dior at all but I like it. I think Dior needs to be freshed. The collection is... cute and young.

I agree with Bonbonenata..sure this doesn't look like the usual Dior, it is indeed very toned down If compared with galliano works.. But I like it, it's really a breath of fresh air :)

This may not look like Galliano's Dior but it does look like the Dior of the early and mid eighties. I have some fashion magazines from back then and some of these looks could have been created at that time. Of course this must look pretty weird for the younger generation but for me it isn't that bad or strange.

Well I guess it's alright for what they could do. At the moment they couldn't do anything too... interesting, what with Galliano gone and no replacement announced yet. However I hope this isn't the new direction - or if it is, I hope it gets better...

This feels like Valentino to me. I'm not sure if it's old or new Valentino. Am I going crazy?

I was thinking the exact same thing, first new Valentino based on the first look, but the later pieces are too vibrant.

The pieces seem a bit too "lose" for Dior but the "cleanness" or how they're put together are rather Dior-ish....

I agree. Furthermore, Dior doesn't need to be OTT most of the time in order to be considered high fashion.

Everyone misses Galliano's aesthetic and so do I (One of my favorite designers of all time.) However, Dior isn't just Galliano and vice versa.

this is clearly a last minute collection that was not put together thoughtfully or creative. Looks like a Chic Target collection

if this is going to be Dior for next couple seasons, I think I still want Galliano at the house.

I won't judge anything until the main collection has arrived so this one doesn't count even it was a bit disappointment.

I think it is pretty. But aside from the fact that the materials are probably very high quality and expensive, the design is non descript. And they do remind me of Dior prior to Galliano in the 80's...I don't think that's a good thing.

wow this is very ugly, i'd probably rather have john's horrible pastels mess than this. and i thought it was said that both the resort and couture collection were going to be designed by the atelier under the guidance of soledano?
