I remember not loving this collection when it first came out, but looking at it again, it really is so strong, so sophisticated, so concise, so beautiful. I love it.
More than anything, I just really loved the world that John had created for Dior at this time - it was such a clear and strong brand identity - from the clothes, the models, the music, the show, the celebrities in the audience...it felt so REAL. I don't know any other way to describe it. You can tell that people loved working on the clothes, loved seeing the clothes, loved John. Sure - these celebrities were contractually obligated and a paid face of the brand, but they weren't picked simply because they were of-the-minute or had a large social media following, or whatever - they were a part of the brand in an almost collaborative manner - real relationships and friendships. It's not like Jennifer Lawrence, these days, who looks so unbelievable uncomfortable in Dior and her and Raf clearly can't hold a conversation. Very sad, very empty, very clinical Dior now with Raf.
