Christian Dior S/S 2026 Paris

Loved this collection and how respectful he was to reference so many elements from the archives that we can readily identify as fans of Dior. I really loved the mirroring of men's to women's looks- those caped looks. Love that, the interconnectedness.

Agree with @blusheels - that coat was one of my favorite moments in the collection.
Excellent pulls for archival reference @AFWQ - could you do that for Balenciaga?

Jonathan has utilized his spotlight and risen to the occasion. I like how the show video in the beginning acted as a reset, and also love how he's sharing elements of the collection on his instagram to invite us into his process and execution.

Couture in January will be soooo good. I am excited.

Saw some pics with their cosmetic jewelry. Pretty, though some were vca inspired, others goossens.

Posted, on Balenciaga thread what I found on twitter. If you have an account, please take a look at LaModeUnknown. It's a great source!

I'm right there with you! I cannot wait for couture week!

^First big miss from Greta Lee/Danielle Goldberg. The beige leotard of the dress makes it look like they should have saved this for the end of the month...like for Heidi Klum's Halloween party.

The slope of the shoulder, width/length of the sleeve, and incline of the cutouts gives Mia a posture that makes it look like she's fighting a stomach virus and just threw up.

her sad look makes her look like a human trafficking victim.

that black dress is so bad. The silver dress - they shouldve had a coordinating bodysuit. The nude shapewear is really bad.

Bernard Arnault must be mad…
Matthieu’s debut is everywhere is French news outlets. They talked about it on the two main talk-shows of France and no Dior…
I think at LVMH they’ve gone for “obvious” choices… and during the last years they have not been brave enough. They played it too safe. Kim was doing amazing at Dior, they moved him to Fendi (flop). JW was doing great at Loewe then they move it to Dior. MGC did good with sales at Dior and they put her at Fendi. Idk.

For Valentino it was the same… playing it safe and now they are almost bankrupt.

Celine must be the only exception. Sometimes you need to dare a little.

This is what I always say about LVMH, there seems to be a lack of creative thinking among the suits all over the company, not just fashion. They recycle designers, they recycle artists they do collaborations with. If Kanye had not screwed himself, there would be an LV homme x Kanye collab. Nigo has been at Kenzo for how long now? Does anyone remember Kenzo?

Like you said Celine might be the only exception.

The lack of risk on LVMH's side is one problem, but isn't Chanel just more culturally important than Dior? It's also the fact that Blazy's tenure marks a new era for the brand. The whole moment just felt more special because of the circumstances. Was it even possible for Dior to do anything that could compete with it?

I'm not sure how things work in France, but in the US, all these are arranged with commercial terms...

I said something similar a few days ago. I started following high fashion, specifically in 2010. Since then Dior has gone through Galliano, Bill Gaytten, Raf, MGC, and now Jonathan in a matter of 15 years. In comparison, Chanel only had Karl and Virginie. Karl is synonymous with Chanel, vice versa. Blazy was bound to draw a significant amount of press.
