Christopher Kane S/S 08 London

:yuk:Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles, ruffles, ruffles, ruffles.......did I mention his ruffles????:yuk:

If nothing else, you can't say he isn't evolving and expanding a bit from what he gained all of his recognition for. From what I see, I like some of it, but will reserve the rest of my comments until I see the full collection.

The audience sure didn't look to thrilled in that video...

I trule expected a lot, but Christopher used all the ideas I hate in fashion. It's just too much...

i like it, it's a lot less one note than pervious collections, but i'm not in love. all in all i'm really liking london this season though!

I really wasn't expecting this. He was so body conscious in his last few collections and now its all volume and poof

he did THIS in just a few days?

that "i got robbed" story was total bs.

so is the crap i'm seeing.

loved his work this time last year but........I really don't like the ruffles on anything other than his sheerest fabrics

Honestly, how could he go from shocking bubblegum-acid pink and lime bodycon to tiered chiffon?

Yarg. I don't call this evolving...

This actually looks pretty good for Kane. I'm not a fan of his previous work, but this is okay. I like that he has less of a hard, masculine edge in this than he had in his other two collections, but I'm not a fan of the snake print. It's all very Givenchy HC F/W 07/08, isn't it?

Hmm...I'll have to watch the video, but I'm at school now, so I can't do that...

I like this quite a bit...I think it's young, fresh, and quirky. it will appeal to the chloe girl that needed a place to find her missing frocks from last season's chloe.

It looks kind of like Just Cavalli.

Part of me wants to be less hash because of what happened with him, but that part is over-ruled by a hatred of flouncy snakeskin chiffon and Motley Crue looking jeans.

Snuck in the video... Random thoughts I jotted down while watching:

The saloon theme seems kind of fresh, but I'm not sure about the wild-west becoming a trend. A lot of the pieces seemed to be inspired by those ruffly leopard dresses from D&G F/W 07 and Chanel HC S/S 07.

I like the crystal section a lot. I'm tired of metallics, but these were just dull enough to not be distracting.

The exposed zippers seem like their going to be Christopher's signature, but Alber was there first.

What was he thinking with the green? It's really ugly!

The boots were so Balenciaga this season.

The ripped jeans don't look very dated at all to me. I don't want him to start that trend though. I think it was because they were ripped so 'cleanly.'

Carine Roitfeld will be wearing this all next spring. The black seemed to be completely made for her, and the whole 'rock chick' thing was totally Carine/Vogue Paris.
