Comme des Garcons Homme S/S 06 Paris

I'm not sure how I feel about this... first of all I don't like the Stones and wouldn't want to wear any of these just for that reason, and although I think graphically a lot of the prints are really great they are way too loud for my style. But I'm sure they will be great to look at in person! One of the guys who works in the NYC CdG store said they will have some black jackets with the prints on the lining, which would be cool.

ugh, I hate the rolling stones homage but i do like the cuts, the golden shoes (i love those!), and some playfulness in it i actually like since, yes, it is a CdG planet, and sometimes you just don't know.

Here's what I found on Dover Street Market

Come to thinK of it..some of the jackets are not that bad.

haha faust comon;)

Aaaah, sorry for the momentary lapse of sarcasm, I should just shut up sometimes

Artxstatic, do you mean the ones with handwritten lyrics? I think those were allright. I have a weakness for hand script .

I saw the whole collection in Paris shop, and the fabrics are amazing, not circus clothing (i thougth the same the first time a saw it). Very expensive otherwise, too much for a piece of clothing that you cannot wear everyday.
I think that as a concept, the work of rei with stones icon is incredible, she has managed to denude the icon of its true meaning, and she has appropriate it. Repetion as a tool of camouflage. Actually when I was wearing the total look I didn't think at all in mick jagger, isn't it weird?
The process it's a kind of deconstruction in 2D, she keeps working in the same concepts but in a different aproach.
The knits were quite good with a huge logo in the back.
For a more conservative way, it was a black velvet suit with the lips in black with different texture (cool).

I saw some more of this today. It's a wild ride of a collection - a gorgeous knit luxurious jet-black wool cardigan with the tiny lips intarsia (i was strangely attracted to it, I admit) at $450 was hanging next to a washed cotton sweatshirt with the giant lips logo at... $450.

I like this now!! I almost bought a lips jacket, albeit a relatively subdued one. I like the washed out sweatshirt too Faust, but it's a bit steep (and it has commedes garcons written on the outside of it).

Actually, I did not like that  I have an aversion to designer sweatshirts, like some people have an aversion to designers teeshirts. It's the cardigan that I really liked - did you see it? Correction on the price, the cardigan was $565 here. I don't know about the lips jacket Johnny - no matter how subdued it is :ermm: (unless you are talking about the one where the lips are only on the lining). Anyway, I think the fabrics save a lot of this collection. What else did you like? What about JW?

I think maybe bc alot of ppl have Comme's cardis already, and not so many have sweetshirts:-)))

Can't wait to see the coll here. Maybe "faded lips will look better in person":-D
