Converse - The All-Things 'Converse Sneakers/Trainers' Thread

mine now are falling apart where the back plastic is all gone, a hole in the back, ripped laces, black lining on side coming off, but i still like em!

my green high tops have such a destroyed sole/ back that when I wear them they fall off.. I really need a pair of lowtops but the trendiness of it all kinda turned my away from chucks but eh, I still love em.

What about the new laceless slip on? I prefer the laces version.

I dont like them without the laces, the laces make the shoe look cool if theyre done up in a certain way where they criss cross, reminds me of the strings on the back of a corset

kimkhuu- i thought someone would like it! now i must buy all those things haha

personally i like the laceless ones, i own the cream color and theyre fabulous:flower:

hmmmm, the slip ons...when i first saw them i was curious, but i really don't like them...shoes without laces have always seemed messy to me..slip ons are one thing but the fact that they have open eyelets sort of drives me nuts. i'd probably have to see them on..the creme ones aren't so bad, but yeah..i'm not so into them.

I just got a pair of the no laces Chucks and I totally love them. they catch everyone off guard when they see them and they are great for summer and bumming around.

Hey guys, an idea!
You should post pics of in this thread to show what you team up with your Converse... some members commented that they wear their Chucks with differently, not following trends - I like to see...:D

SO...how do you wear yours??

I have seen a number of women wearing the laceless ones and I think they look very cool. The first time I saw them, I did a double take. The acid green ones looked good in the store but I have never seen anyone wearing them. The navy ones look great on people that I've seen.

I've worn Converses since elementary school. :)

I find them really comfortable for my foot type (narrow with a high arch).

I love my converse.....every birthday....i try to ask for a new one....and they are oh so very comfortable and it doesnt hurt that they're cool too...

I like them, but my GAWD everybody is wearing them. Then when you do wear them, people accuse you of being a "wannabe punk rocker" it's so stupid

I had them in denim for a few years. Now my high school halls are filled with these shoes. The worst is that most of the people have only got them recently and the prices have gotten really low... -___- Now mine have holes on the sides, so it's time for a change. I don't really care that the Olsen twins wear them.

I have to admit they're not the most comfortable, most elegant shoes, but theyre easy to slip on when someone is going to pick you up in a sec.

i always like to raise the fact that nike owns converse whenever this kind of thing comes up.

nike owns converse?? when did they buy them out?
this really upsets me... i myself love converse and have one pair that's about three years old now. but i am morally against buying any (or as much as i can get away with) products from china...

oh no oh no.

i guess after this pair is gone no more converse for me. :(

yes. nike does own converse now...which explains the ridiculous trends of neon yellow converse, pink converse, etc.
converse have become what many posers (teenagers, mostly, in the U.S.) where...which is why i'll never be able to purchase another pair of chucks. i'm sticking by my 5 year old navy-blue high tops, thanks.

Yes... Nike does own Converse... however they have had no impact on their style... let alone their decision making process. Most people do not even know that they are owned by Nike... showing that they have stayed true to their fans... and are still bringing out cool shoes!
