The May issue of Vogue US is The Urban and Party Elegance issue. I could see Rihanna being on it rather then the Shape issue cover.

I dont think that those "themes" are followed closely at US Vogue every year, May will probably be dedicated to Lee, because of the Met (like every year, regardless of the "theme" they put out beforehand). And i wouldnt be surprised if his friend Kate Moss gets the cover, but im just speculating, it might as well be Rihanna. I just really do not see them not doing an issue dedicated to the Met Balls celebration of McQueen's work...

Considering SJP was on the last May cover, it seems less likely, but then that was one of their highest selling issues of 2010. I would prefer Moss, of course like Gary pointed out, it might very well be Rihanna in the end.

I'm not Rihanna's biggest fan, but somehow I feel a bit excited about her cover. It'd be hypocritical of me to always complain about Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, et al. getting covers and not be at least excited by the idea of someone new.

I would so much rather her be shot by Testino or Klein, but I guess Annie is ok. Sometimes it seems like she takes her subjects out of their usual element and bores them down, but it seems like Rihanna has calmed down a lot since Rated R.

Klein + Rihanna would probably be a little too....edgy. I don't think Anna would go for that. And personally, I'm glad they're not using Testino. He's wonderful and all, but give someone else some covers for crying out loud!

Wow! I'm so excited for Rihanna's cover. Glad that she got one. Although I'm just wondering a little why Anna has decided to give the May cover to Rihanna? Because in my opinion, she suits the cover of the Shape Issue well.

And personally, I'm glad they're not using Testino.

It could easily be for April though. The content deadline isn't until February 1st.

The covers for most April issues were shot already. Some of the UK ones shot theirs weeks ago. So I'd say for now it's safer to say it is May. Unless they were running a bit behind.

^^ but doesn't the UK magazines have earlier release dates than the ones in the US? I think it's for April too. I may be holding to a thin hope that the May one will again be a model issue.
