Cover Rumor Thread

I know - I was flicking through some old UK Vogues and US Glamours from the early 90s, and there were more ethnicities in the adverts and the editorials than there are today, when people are supposedly more aware of diversity. I keep saying, it's almost as if we've been going backwards for the last twenty years, and now we get to think we're in enlightened times because there's a short article about Chinese models inside the latest issue of some magazine that can't be bothered considering them for any major feature.

If I were to venture a guess at the most ethnic decade it would be the latter part of the 70s. Lots of strong colors in fashion made it very appealing, I think. Plus people were true idealists at that time. Lived more like they learned....at least that's the idea I get when I read about it I wasn't around at the time.

Yasmin Le Bon shot for Russh while in Sydney yesterday. Her booker at Elite New York told me about it.

Former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld will return to magazines in September. We hear Roitfeld will work on a cover story and fashion spread for V magazine. Roitfeld has collaborated with the magazine for several issues, with partners including Mario Testino and Karl Lagerfeld. Since leaving French Vogue she has said she wanted to work on various freelance fashion projects; Roitfeld is also styling the fall catalog and ad campaign for Barneys.

^ I think you're talking about new issue of Visionaire, out in June. Ricardo Tisci guest-edited the issue.

Queen C is back in game...and with Mario Testino?:buzz:
You bet it is! ^_^

Picking out a Mother’s Day gift is hard enough (though a little easier if you consult our handy guide). And when mom is the former editor in chief of Paris Vogue, well…

But at his gallery opening last night, Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld didn’t seem too stressed. “I’m going to be here and my mom is in London this weekend,” he told Style.com. “I will send her a very, very big bouquet of flowers.” Apparently, the glamorous editor-turned-stylist (who will be in the U.K. to style a shoot for the September issue of V with Mario Testino and Stephen Gan) will be getting white roses, her favorite flower.

^ Christina's rumor is about W Magazine, and Carine's for V Magazine.

Today, in New York, Patrick Demarchelier is shooting Gisele Bundchen for the cover of Vogue Brasil. (Possibly for July issue).
