I can't imagine they'd put a sixty-something woman on the cover (a solo Carrie Fischer) much more likely is a photo of her from decades ago. Older men are cool for VF covers, older women not so much.

They've done that with Farrah Fawcett actually. But then it was a multi cover - either Farrah or Michael Jackson. I imagine Michael outsold her.

Carrie wasn't even photographed for the shoot Annie did for The Force Awakens, so I wouldn't get your hopes up. If I had to bet on any two actors being on the cover, it would be Adam and Daisy (most likely with lightsabers blazing against the Irish skyline).

Marie Claire UK have a generic model on the cover. Not even anyone remotely famous. I mean, you could get Karolina Kurkova or Coco Rocha, no?

I will be livid if they dare to pass on Natalie in favour of Bella. Of course I don't mind Bella, but it's not everyday that Natalie book a Vogue cover.

Well there was of course, Lara Mullen, who honest to God, I didn't knew until she got the cover. Perhaps that's the way forward for them? Just don't let them trick us again like they've done with Marloes Horst - styling her like she's a celebrity.

Marie Claire is a fan of an obscure model. It's very cheap content for them, the model will more than likely just do it for the exposure and the photographer and team will keep the costs low, but it means they aren't seen to be constantly reprinting every cover...

in light of these covers, maybe MC UK should be applauded for actually championing models on the cover. i once read in a Liz Jones column (who used to be EIC of MC Uk) that Vogue would never touch a model that's shot for Marie Claire UK first, so that's why they historically never get the top talent.

Thank you! I absolutely agree, it's refreshing to have models on the cover, whether they are known or not.
And I've heard of Charlene Hogger, so I can't wait to see the cover.

I'd always rather have an (un)known model than Reese, Gwyneth, Drew or Cameron or whichever celebrity gets a cover ever 5 minutes. God knows we've seen plenty of them.

I think UK Marie Claire put Gisele on the cover when she wasn't that well-known worldwide... it was an odd-looking shot as well... March 1998. Back then, she was also 'just a model'.
