Cover Rumor Thread

I wouldn't be surprised to see Nicole Kidman on the September cover. She's a favorite and I'm sure a good seller.

I say no to any "models" unless they're the supers covering it. Kendall's cover was a no go for me last and year and no to M&M shooting it.

I was thinking Blake Lively by Mario Testino. Cate Blanchett by Annie or Halle Berry.

Vogue is apparently celebrating its 125th anniversary and the 120th was celebrated during the September issue. So the coverstar has to be a big name. Lady Gaga graced the 120th anniversary issue.

Actually their 125th anniversary celebration started with the March issue and will go on until December. But I am sure September will remain as the most important one in the process.

Yes it did started with March, but the actual celebration is always on the September Issue. I felt like they only started with March just because to have the "Women" shtick.

I highly doubt it would be Taylor Swift. After her negative publicity, I don't think they'll find her suited for the September issue. Well maybe a filler issue would fit her. Honestly, Vogue dodged a bullet with Katy Perry thank goodness they decided to release a cover before all these bad press.

Iris Strubegger was working with Agata Pospieszynska and Charlie Harrington this week - probably for Harper's Bazaar UK.

UK GQ is HRH Prince William by Norman Jean Roy. Lovely family portrait of the full family in there too.

I always find it interesting when someone other than Testino or Leibovitz ends up shooting the royals. And when you have such a beautiful portrait, it's absolutely worth breaking their press mould.

^^ I think MON is referring to all the negativity surrounding her image in the press in general. The Taylor Swift feud, cultural appropriation accusations, American Idol salary drama, apparent charts flop, rumored meltdown and "weird" behavior followed by random videos on social media and panty-baring in concerts.

Lets not forget that cringe-worthy SNL performance!! The 2nd hand embarrassment was too much for me to bear.

Oh man, both performances were really awkward and just vocally bad. It's cool that she is experimenting with her look and her music I guess but she doesn't look comfortable in this role of an eclectic superstar.

No wonder that second cover planned for June never materialized. The media has not been kind to her ever since the political brouhaha with Rise.

She was slated to get the June Vogue cover as well?

seriously nicole kidman has a good shot at the september cover. so much buzzs for her lately. she has so many movies coming out and her oscar buzz is heating up.

I think I would be okay with a Nicole cover. She has pulled me back as a fan this year. Who would be ideal to shoot? Annie could be good, as long as it wasn't moody, broody, and cool in tone. Annie made beautiful images of Elle Fanning for June, but not FOR June, in my opinion. The mood was somber, depressing, and lonely.

Am I the only one that thinks Hillary Clinton might land September? It would get huge press coverage, there's a really interesting story there documenting the last few months of her life after the election and I believe she has a memoir due to be out in late September so it would be early promotion for that, plus they'd probably include an excerpt.

She wouldn't be the most 'fashion' choice but I don't think it's out of the question and to me it would be appropriate for the 125th anniversary. Although it'll probably end up being Taylor Swift, she'll most likely have new music out and a new album on the way by then.

Please not Taylor. She doesn't not transform and she doesn't not enter or tell a narrative. Her expression in photos seem to be, "This is right. I'm Taylor Swift and I should be in Vogue." Please not a Taylor Septmeber - or otherwise - cover.

I like the idea of a Blake shoot. She seems a bit more refined and lavish these days. A shoot showcasing that would be nice.

Maybe she was set to appear on another edition. American Elle seems to love her, so it was most likely them.

I personally would rather Cate Blanchett for American Vogue. I caught a glimpse of her current Town & Country edit in her style thread, and it seems like she's becoming more vocal generally, and less insular. Plus we haven't seen her for Vogue in a while.

No way will it be Nicole or Halle as they've had previous September cover. The latter is even more unlikely.

Maybe Cate doesn't sell well these days? i remember her last cover was circa 2014 around the time of her second oscar. It's such a contrast because Aussie Vogue sometimes use her twice a year. Sadly i sense legendary stars like Cate, Vogue staples for so long, are being steadily replaced by the new guard - apparently Selena Gomez and Elle Fanning. I predict September going to a younger, infinitely less interesting starlet.

Anna Cleveland was working with Giampaolo Sgura for Vogue Germany yesterday.

If Hillary Clinton is on US Vogue's September cover, it will be the first issue I haven't purchased in 35 years. That woman is not Vogue cover material! Neither are Melania and Ivanka. Let's keep political hacks off of fashion magazine covers!!

^ Agreed, and don't worry about it, there is no way Clinton is getting Sept cover, in fact some really off guesses in general. Nicole, Halle, Blake.etc defo not getting it either!
