Cover Rumor Thread

A bit? Lol. I'd say she's hit her expiry date a decade ago, easily, and I don't mean this in an ageist way. There's something to be said about giving the public a chance to actually miss you. Why not bow out gracefully like many of her peers and stop pushing herself into the limelight?

Maybe all the Kylie covers are leaving her rattled. Edward should just take it one step further and give September to Janet. Shot by Meisel. That ought to give her a decent bout of insomnia!

Of course you do. Your comments about her just drip with ageism.
Madonna is a living legend and icon. She has nothing left to prove to anyone. She's done it all and her cultural impact on a global scale is undisputed. That's why she has the power to do any kind of shoot she wants. There was Michael Jackson and then there was Madonna. The King and Queen of Pop. End of.

The idea that she would rattled by a Kylie Vogue Spain cover is ridiculous. Madonna has never been bothered by Kylie Minogue, whose entire career has been a C list tribute act on a budget. No one cares about Kylie Minogue or Vogue Spain.

Oh, and Janet Jackson couldn't get arrested by any Vogue anywhere. The idea that Edward would give her the September issue shot by Meisel is beyond laughable.:lol::lol:

Carry on.

So can anyone confirm if Gaga will be covering Vogue and what month?

She's going to be on the September issue of Vogue to promote
A Star is Born according to my source, but when I asked her if she
knows whether Gaga's gonna get an actual cover or not, she answered
me with a vague "IDK".

Wow... Pop culture is always ageist, Madonna and Kylie are too old to be relevant on charts and social media like the young artists, but they are both legends, their names, legacies and impact on fashion are enough for both to book a Vogue cover with ease, while Gaga has become so boring and a flop, we are expecting a American Vogue cover from her, it’s okay because she is still young?

And you, MDNA, are completely objective of course....

She may well do as she pleases, but does she know that people are laughing at her constantly parading in underwear and crucifixes? Sad caricature sounds about spot on!

At least Kylie doesn't resort to the same tactics she did 20 years ago. You don't see her in a bustier and bikini, desperately trying to keep up with the Taylors and Beyonces. It's called evolving. Something Madonna should try to look up in the dictionary. And don't even bother to come at me with her bucketful of reinventions. The last one worthy of mention was for Confessions. She's been stuck in a rut ever since.

Lastly, you've taken what I've said about Janet literal. That wasn't my point. I was referencing to Madonna's insecurity......

Criticizing Madonna's tired image, while lobbying for someone (apparently younger) to have a cover is ageist? Goodness, let's not be the forum who uses ageism lightly to protect our fave.

Madonna on VI is not something I look forward to. At this point, I can already see it as an over-sexualized cover. Nothing against it, but I'm just tired seeing it. Its as tiring as seeing Mariah. Girl, you have a team you pay for, might as well put them to use and have them reinvent your image.

A Madonna by MM / Meisel is a waste of paper.

Madonna doesn't know you exist or care that you're laughing at her.

No one cares what you think of Madonna or that you're "laughing at her"...least of all Madonna. She's still Madonna and she's doing exactly what she wants. Her legend status is set.

As far as Kylie goes, no one cared about her tactics 20 years ago or today. She's not even in the same league as Taylor Swift or Beyonce. LMAO! at you even putting her in that conversation. Absolutely no one in pop music is checking for Kylie Minogue.
Madonna competes with no one, because she's the mother of them all.
She created the blueprint they all so slavishly follow. Hers is the career they all want to emulate.

You can stay behind your computer laughing tho.

Anyway, moving along. So now there is a possibility that Gaga may get her 2nd September cover instead of Beyonce? Doubt they'd only give her the edit without a cover. And the film release is early October which means it will have to be September, right?

Gaga on US Vogue, Madonna on VI....Edward and Edwina better pull out all the stunts!

Edward and Edwina may as well put Madonna on the cover. You get Madonna. You get Madonna. (Oprah voice)

Has that abherration better known as stan culture infiltrated this forum? If so...God take me with you!

I can't believe Gaga's getting a a third US Vogue cover considering how irrelevant she's become...I hope she gets the M&M Photoshop treatment.

Wishing the thread was more about actual rumors/insider info's, rather than speculations, wishful thinkings and discussions who deserves a cover. :(

^ Exactly.

Gaga is defo ending on a cover, she was shot by I&V, but could she even end up on August?

Lol @ the agressive Madonna fans.

Madonna By Mert & Marcus for Vogue Italia is going to be a tragedy, just like her last one. Trash.

In the last video posted by Madonna for Vogue Italia, she is in the standard Dolce & Gabbana-like black corset, stacked gold necklaces and a headscarf. So yeah, you pretty much know what you're getting because we've seen it a thousand times already.

Can't wait to see Madonna wearing a corset, religious symbols and talking about how people ''hate'' her. Pff.

I do think they will portrait a lot of Portuguese Culture. Since I saw one post where she will wear some pieces of it on set - like Barcelos Roaster, plates and other things from Vista Alegre...

D&G has very italian/meditarrean style. A lot of pieces you would see in D&G could easily seen being use in other countries of south of europe as part of their culture.

Also curvy body is very common on this region of Europe, although, Portuguese tend to be shorter and have larger hips. (One of things got really popular with brand were tile drawings. Most of our builds have those tiles, only in blue and white. Suzy Menkes even invite the speaks of CNI Luxury to Palace in Lisbon where you have those, Louboutin has house with those tiles here.)

On that video i think they were inspired by "Nazaré" woman who lost they man at sea. Those women wear black for rest of their lifes, with a scarf, and gold jewellery. The most of common use of that type of dressing is in regions where there are a strong fishing activity. In Portugal, most of coast is like that, but more on tradicional and historical regions as Nazaré, Peniche, Algarve...

Also she probably will be using horses on the shoot, since she loves Lusitan Horses, as well her sons. (I am always seeing with them) And we have a big tradition on equestrianism.

Although all of this might sound repetitive to you, it's because Europe South has a lot of similarities as well you see in East Asia and other regions of the globe, where countries are near one another and each country history getting mix with one another.
But If I can put my personal opinion on it - I will mostly likely see diferent aspects of it with this shoot, from what I have been seeing. It will show more of our Portuguese Culture and those differences.
