So I wouldn't be surprised if more and more celebrities forgo Vogue for Nina's Elle or Laura's InStyle in the US market and Edward's Vogue in the UK.

I would totally understand if celebs forego US Vogue for US Elle. Like come on. You see the amount of effort Nina puts. The worst covers of Elle (as of lately) is still so much better than what other editors worldwide produce. Its something celebs can be proud of tbh. Nina brought the glory back in US Elle.

As for US InStyle and UK Vogue, the only reason why I think celebs clamor for it is because it is accessible. These magazines are not at their best shape. All hype. Why bother fighting tooth and nail for a US Vogue cover (which will demand so much from the celebrity [if you're no Beyonce/Gaga/Adele]) when there are magazines like these two who you can get just as long as you have a persuasive PR team.

My first thought was that their shooting was for Lancôme, since M&M usually photograph Penelope for various Lancôme campaigns but I'd like to be proved wrong in months to come - always been partial to some Penelope x Mert & Marcus!

Not long until the December cover of British Vogue should be unveiled (tomorrow?). I cannot remember the last time I was anticipating to see such a cover... hoping for some serious Meisel magic.

Cheryl Cole's new music is imminent. With NO UK Glamour and Instyle will she get any big covers? Is she over? I can't see Vogue or Harpers having her! Marie Claire is all there is. Grazia and Stylist maybe?

She’ll get Cosmo probably, and maybe things like a digital cover of Glamour. She’s always been quite good at aligning with the stylist who liked her, so I wouldn’t rule out something like LOVE either.

It's odd because Cheryl used to be a powerhouse in her heyday. Yet I can't imagine a big edition giving her a cover now. Vogue and Harper's are definitely out of the question, I'm thinking maybe Elle or Marie Claire? In fact I reckon Marie Claire is a definite because they've been her most loyal supporter.

To this day I find it odd that she's managed TWO Vogue covers......

I think, I’m Cheryl’s defence, when she got her Vogue covers she was huge. Those days are long gone, but she was on a show being watched by 15 million people and I believe at the time also had achieved more number ones that any other British female... regardless of anyone’s feelings towards her, in those days she was really unrivalled for fame in the UK. I think the interest in her has faded now, and we all know it wasn’t anyone’s interest in the music that was carrying the fame!

I think, I’m Cheryl’s defence, when she got her Vogue covers she was huge. It has. She is the female with more number 1s on UK. From what I followed of Cheryl, she still one of biggest face of L'Oreal Paris in UK. She was in Paris for catwalk show. And her last ad for it was in January.

Cheryl has new music comming out in couple days. Sign with a tvshow like X Factor. But she's no longer gets same attention as before. As you said, she faded. A lot of fans lost interest in her, since she barely promotes her work... She doesn't create same buzz as before. Her last album was disaster in sales... Which is complete opposite effect she had in past where she was always on the covers of newspapers, magazines, and had always her songs playing on repeat on the radio, charts.

I don't see interest in any of big magazines giving her a cover unless she buys it to promote herself.
