Cover Rumor Thread

Have there actually been any rumours about Natalie getting the Sept cover? I know it's very likely because she has like 24 films coming out this fall, but has anyone reported it?

the thread's a bit messy, so i can't actually tell. i don't think there have been any confirmed sources on the september cover.

on an unrelated note, i am sure that reese witherspoon will have an upcoming cover for us vogue and/or elle (from a reliable industry source).

Feb 2001 was actually Britney Spears. I know that for sure because it was the first Vogue I ever bought

^Actually, Naomi Watts was supposed to get the September cover of Jane.
No,Natalie was going to be.....

While it's never a great time to be told "We're shutting down your magazine and laying everybody off," Condé Nast's timing in folding Jane was particularly inopportune.
For one thing, editor in chief Brandon Holley was set to depart later today for Uganda in the company of actress Natalie Portman. The combination cover shoot/consciousness-raising mission has, obviously, been scrapped.
The shutdown also puts a fat question mark over The Fashionista Diaries, the new reality show being filmed this summer for SoapNet (trailer above). The series follows fashion industry interns, two of whom were working at Jane. Shooting had been scheduled to continue through the summer, culminating at New York Fashion Week. An employee of the production company, Go Go Luckey Productions, hadn't heard about the closure.
Meanwhile, Jane staffers have been told they're to be out of the office by the end of the day, according to sources. Employees will receive a minimum one month's pay in severance, with extra for longer service. Condé Nast CEO Chuck Townsend just released the official announcement of the closure.

august - kate bosworth
september - natalie portman
october - sienna miller

I don't mind Nat getting the cover - she has an AA nom, she's managed to juggle a busy acting career and getting her degree, she is very, very famous thanks to Star Wars and I think she's pretty.

The other two? Not so much. First off, Kate Bosworth? On what grounds? If they put her on the cover no-one will have a clue who it is as they usually airbrush her to make her look even more generic. She's not that well known and she's not some fashionista so I don't get it.

As for Sienna? please. To me she's proven that she's no trend setter but I imagine she'll be on the cover to flog the upcoming clothing line that she supposedly co-designed. Again another generic blonde actress who isn't that famous outside of her ex-bf.

I'd rather Anna stuck models on the cover than either of those 2.

it was already reported that naomi watts was on the september cover...
the shoot was reported in this thread and her thread in star style...

this trip with natalie was for the december/january issue...
it's july, they wouldn't be shooting for september so late...from wwd...

(First-bound copies of the August issue were already in, but the closed September issue, with Naomi Watts on the cover, will be neither printed nor shipped.)

The closure plausibly came as a surprise to Holley, who was set to leave Monday for Uganda with Natalie Portman for a story in the December-January issue, and reportedly had met the Friday before with vice president for editorial operations Rick Levine to discuss the Web site budget for 2010.

i am happy to report that the august us vogue cover rumors about kate bosworth were untrue. winona ryder is on the cover.
