Ooh, good hint! I'm looking at the Nylon poster that came with one of the issues...

^That's very cool to hear. What do you mean by 'may' get the cover? What I'm asking is, did Plum say that Blanchett has it for sure or she might?

Well heres a new rumour for US Vogue Sept :/

Amy in Vogue

Mag cover cements U.S. status

03/08/2007

If there were any doubts about Amy Winehouse being a trans-Atlantic sensation - there ain't now.
The jazz babe has been afforded the ultimate accolade - the front cover of American Vogue - on the orders of ubercool editor Anna Wintour.
Ice queen Anna insisted on the singer after falling in love with her award-winning album Back To Black. Our Amy was then chosen to front the style bible's September issue, traditionally the highest-selling of the year.
A mag insider tells us: "An order from Anna Wintour is like a royal command and the order was 'get me Amy'.
"Anna loved Amy's album so much that she just had to have her. But at the end of the day, it's not just about the music, it's about her rawness, her kooky style and her outspokenness.
"She's very much a one-off - but incredibly talented with it."
The shoot by world-renowned photographer Bruce Weber was done in Miami where Amy and hubby Blake Fielder-Civil got married. Our insider continues: "Wintour was instantly delighted with the outcome and thought Amy oozed cool."
Yesterday Amy was in New York, taking her new-found status as international style icon typically in her stride.
Strolling arm in arm with Blake, the Rehab singer - sporting her usual shorts and beehive - looked utterly unfazed by the attention.
And the loved-up couple had passers-by blushing as they kissed and cuddled between drags on cigarettes.
America's love affair with 23-year-old Amy kicked off after her album went straight in at a No. 7 in the Billboard Charts in March. It hasn't strayed out of the Top 10 since and has sold a staggering one million copies.
"Americans have embraced Amy with their heart. She's completely different to most of the vacuous, conveyor-belt pop stars that are churned out. There's nobody quite like her," says a source.
And Amy's ascent to the top has not gone unnoticed by her fellow stars.
While Sir Elton John raves about her here, in the US Prince, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z have all expressed their admiration for the North Londoner.

 That would be surprising, to say the least.

Is this yet another interview that only took place in your imagination, or could you provide a scan, or at least type out the quote in question, to make it a little more credible?

Much as I love the way Amy does her own thing, the one thing she's not is a September US Vogue cover girl, so my first impressions were that the rumour is interesting-but-untrue. But then I started to picture it in my mind... and after Jennifer Hudson on March, will we see another unexpected cover choice that'll be a talking point? So I'm coming round to the thought.

On the other hand, Amy's a "love her or hate her" type of celebrity - is that too costly to have on the September cover? Then there's the high profile lifestyle - smoking, drinking, marrying unsuitable men. All very exciting, but not very couture.

But it would sure shake things up - and it would be the makeover of the year.

i've also heard about a possible amy cover, but this source says it's for october:

Amy Winehouse will appear on the October 2007 American cover of Vogue Magazine.

The ‘Valerie’ singer was approached personally for the posh spot by the Fashion Bible’s editor Anna Wintour - who was impressed by Winehouse’s second album, ‘Back To Black.’

“Anna loved Amy’s album so much that she just had to have her” a source tattles to the tabs.

“But at the end of the day, it’s not just about the music, it’s about her rawness, kooky style and her outspoekenness.”

Amy, who may be moving to M.I.A, complete a photoshoot with the photographer Bruce Weber for the cover last month.

“Wintour was instantly delighted with the outcome and thought Amy oozed cool.”

“Americans have embraced Amy with their heart. She’s completly different to most of the vacuous, conveyor-belt pop stars that are churned out. There’s nobody quite like her.”

^haha. i second that. "tramp magazine" is beyond questionable as an accurate source.

Sure, the magazine was profiling significant socialities and it qoutes (Plum) as calling Cate "a fashion icon", the actual text reads "to commemorate many years photographing Prolific fashion images, Plum Skyes and Anna Wintour discreetly asked Penn to take a series of images, including one of Vogue cover star Cate Blanchette in an eleborate Balenciaga gown promoting her film, Elizabeth: the Golden Age".

Are Cate Blanchett and Amy Winehouse going to fight it out for the September cover? Will the outcome be decided by a tie-breaking question or hand-to-hand combat?

Eccentricity:

^^I think what they were reffering to there,is a shoot of Cate taken by Penn in a Balenciaga gown, wich was alredy featured in the July issue. But please explain to me how the hell did you come to conclusion from that quote, that Cate might appear on the September cover? Seriously!

I think they could "hair it out",you know Cate in her Elizabeth hair and Amy with her own huge hair,it would be very suitable;Clash of the hair!

Poor Sienna Miller, first she was supposed to get October cover and then September, now it seems Cate and Amy Winehouse beat her to it.:innocent:

And Amy's the type of girl who'd hide razorblades in her barnet to give her an unfair edge.
