Cover Rumor Thread

And the last Asian Meisel worked with was for march 05: Du Juan

And I don't think that was for VI, right? The Cavalli campaign? Not sure

I don't think Meisel has ever worked with Du. He did shoot the YSL FW02 campaign with Ai Tominaga (along with Carmen, Liya, Caroline R, KK)...he never gave her a VI cover, though...

Yes he did shoot that supplement cover and ed :)
We're discussing black models in Meisel stories and covers for VI, but what about the Asians? None in the past decade at least :ninja:

I wish this issue represented Asian models too. They deserve an issue dedicated to them too.

Sorry it was indeed not Du I was confused with Hye

^^^but that would look like they are all seperated in cultures, I think this could be just a Meisel idea because he wants to be innovative and there is no racist thing behind this.
It would be better to use them in normal issues though (but to be fair there aren't many really succesful black models just 3 or 4)

maybe not succesful but there are alot and i mean alot of unappreciated black models out right now..who would be great in vogueitalia or any other magazine

any suggestions on VOGUE UK JUNE 08?
I hope it is a model.

seriously so excited about this upcoming all black vogue italia! praying for kinnee and jourdan!

I would like to see Mimi Roche in the all black VI too, I think Meisel has worked with her before:unsure: Also Oluchi but she has already had a VI cover shot by Meisel. Surely Jourdan, Chanel and Liya are dead certs........although I am praying for Kinee Diouf.:D

If this VI thing is true, I'll be supportive and buy the issue. Go, Meisel!

I'd like to see Iman, Liya, Kinee, Jourdann, Chanel, Naomi and Beverly Peele (two folks who had some of the best covers in VI history, IMO).

I've been thinking about this more. Does anybody else feel that this could be seen as a bad thing, just to round up ALL the black models for this one issue? It's almost like, lets marginalize them, so we won't have to worry about putting them in our magazine again. I hope it won't turn out like that, but it's something that worries me.

I think Meisel is making a good point with good intentions. He has a history of working with black models and is trying to encourage the industry to change its standards, from the people signing models to contracts to photographers and advertisers. Hopefully, they will take heed. :flower:

^^I get what MyNameIs is saying but ultimately I believe this can only turn out to be a positive step^_^

Thanks Marcel for the link.:D:flower:

I want to see Naomi ,I love her regardless of anything.I'm not really a fan of any black models that walk today but Mimi and Alek would be nice additions.

I think after this VI issue, Jourdan Dunn will get an OG cover of British VOGUE.

I'm sorry but Naomi has had her fair share of VI covers. Give some other girl (or girls) a chance.
I would accept a shared cover for Naomi I suppose even though after her recent behaviour she certainly does not deserve it.:innocent:
