Oh please, how often do you see a black model on a cover? Especially a cover that doesn't tie in to the magazine showing off how We too, use black models! In this issue!

^i-D uses quite a few black models compared to other magazines.

^^ As well Teen Vogue's November cover featured Jourdan and Chanel and was quite lovely also. So Chanel has had more high profile covers than many other working models right now, including many of the girls ranked above her on the models.com top ranking. Teen Vogue, which didn't feature any other models on the cover this year, is quite the coup.

I know. I count Arlenis' Vogue Germany May 2009 cover as the most recent solo cover given to a young black model. Jourdan and Chanel on Teen Vogue; and Sessilee, Arlenis, Chanel and Jourdan on I-D were great but it'd be nice if a young black model had her own cover and editorial that didn't include an article solely about black models in the industry.

It's just a simple complaint. I wish Meisel would give a young black model a solo cover soon, July 2008 seems like too long ago. Also, magazines like Vogue Nippon, Vogue Russia, Vogue Australia etc. seem to rarely use young black models on their covers. I think someone like Rose Cordero would be perfect for Vogue Nippon. The fashion world has such a beautiful lively crop of black models and it just seems like a shame sometimes. I just know that right now I would much rather buy an issue with Jourdan on it than I would one with Natasha Poly on it.

Well, it's great that Vogue Korea, Vogue Portugal, Vogue Nippon, Vogue China etc. have all given several covers to young Asian models last year, but you're right that is also a problem.

Yes, lets move on..

No tibits have been posted yet, unfortunately. But I'm hoping for a model cover, which lets face it, isn't unusual for Vogue Paris.
I have no idea if the February issue is going to be an anniversary edition, never knew that was anytime soon..
Naturally I'm hoping for one of my favourite models to be on the cover, e.g Natasha Poly.
But who knows.. Iselin would be terrific as well. Raquel deserves a cover as well!
