Wow, she's the last girl I'd have imagined for Harper's. The American edition yes, but not the British one. Interested to see what they've done with her.

i'm surprised, my newsagent had a huge amount of British Vogues with her on the cover marked down for clearance, so i assumed she sold quite poorly. I love what Ashley represents but i'm not interested in seeing her on fashion covers, she's yet to be very versatile, it's always the same look.

^ Hahah i always pay attention to see which issues sell at the place where i buy, as well. For instance really shocked to see April Vogue issue with Selena was basically untouched for weeks before it was replaced by May. No one was interested, but then some issues like InStyle with VB was a surprising sell out. But I guess it depends on places, countries.etc and it might be a hit in other area. Shame we don't get wwd reports about best selling issues anymore.

September Issue Guesses

Do any of you have any speculation or hopes for Vogue's September cover? I feel like Paris Jackson has been everywhere yet, but she hasn't really been featured on Vogue.com or their social media. I don't know how I would feel if this happened, though I don't think it will. I know I would need her to NOT be styled as Madonna in the 80's/90's.

I know she has already graced a September cover, but a Beyonce pregnancy cover could be really beautiful. Though I don't anticipate her still being pregnant when the issue comes out, making the cover irrelevant.

Thoughts? Guesses?

Not particularly looking forward to another Beyonce Vogue cover, I was never her biggest fan. Part of me wanted to say Madonna, but the fact that she did the Harper's anniversary cover would cancel her out, I'm sure. Maybe it will be supers???

I'm not sure how big the supply chain is in Australia, but in my area there's always a fair amount of issues available at any given time. Past few issues has been regularly discounted. I also think January is generally a quiet month in terms of sales because it's not a very thick issue, but I'd be surprised if Ashley's issue sold well. In the same month she also booked Cosmo, going at £1, and looking much more easier on the eye. So I'm sure that definitely made a dent in Vogue's sales. But who knows, maybe now that all those stories about her past surfaced she will fare better for Justine.

I do recall US Vogue with Kendall last year selling quite well at my local bookstore. There are normally two release runs for US Vogue - one starts about 3-4 days after the issue is released in America with the 'Just Arrived!' sticker and priced at a much steeper point, naturally. And the second run is more decently priced (basically reduced weeks later). If I recall, the first run of September Vogue actually sold out, meaning there was wait to restock. Love magazine with Sienna and Kaia also had to be restocked, although the 2nd time a new set of covergirls came and they're still sitting on the rack.

Am I the only one that thinks Hillary Clinton might land September? It would get huge press coverage, there's a really interesting story there documenting the last few months of her life after the election and I believe she has a memoir due to be out in late September so it would be early promotion for that, plus they'd probably include an excerpt.

She wouldn't be the most 'fashion' choice but I don't think it's out of the question and to me it would be appropriate for the 125th anniversary. Although it'll probably end up being Taylor Swift, she'll most likely have new music out and a new album on the way by then.

seriously nicole kidman has a good shot at the september cover. so much buzzs for her lately. she has so many movies coming out and her oscar buzz is heating up.

^ definitely. It's a little too early for Oscar buzz but the Emmy's are in September and she stands a good chance of winning one for Big Little Lies.

I forgot about Nicole, I would love for it to be her. Even though she's had a September cover in the past, she has a fantastic history with the magazine and a great relationship with them so it would make sense to have her for the 125th anniversary; she's having an amazing year too.

I would love to see Nicole on a Vogue cover this September! Her last one was in 2015 so a two year gap is quite acceptable in my opinion. Plus she really does have a great relationship with the magazine and is one of the ultimate A-list actresses with a 20+ year career in Hollywood that are as talked about today as they were in their "heyday".
