I never understood why VP never support their national model ...i mean , Constance, Sigrid , Anaïs even Cora at a time never get their cover. Well...if this is MGC, maybe Ruth with her since she seems to be the Dior face lately?

It's unfortunate but they don't think in a "nationalist" way when it comes to models.
The majority of those hot french models were featured in the magazine and supported through VP's editors consultings gigs but no cover.

I don't know if the fact that they never made it that big in here is a reason but it's weird, considering that VP is notorious for turning models into stars.

The last french model on the cover was Laetitia Casta and even further, the last model who wasn't an actress was Noemie Lenoir.



I hope it's not Dior. I don't want to see MGC's clothes in a entire issue of a magazine.

Has VP ever done a foldout cover? I can't seem to recall one even under Carine.

The only one I can know of is October 2007 with Gisele by Inez and Vinoodh.
I didn’t pick the issues up, but I thought I saw in the threads that the September 2012 and March 2015 covers with Daria, Kate and Lara were foldout covers also.

No those two issues you mentioned were multiple covers but not fold-out.

However the October 2015 issue (75 anniversary) had fold-out covers.

Elle France is a tribute to Alaia - it's the iconic shot of Azzedine and Elle Macpherson posing (i think i once read that it was her wedding dress to her first husband gilles who is also the photographer). Looks stunning and although the shot is thirty years old it could be today! I think it captures his legacy so well - himself, his body of work and his legendary friendships with supermodels.

What’s the probability of Steven Meisel having shot the December cover of Vogue Italia? Hoping Meisel will come to the rescue with something overly-festive, since there’s been a major drought with all the other magazines.

Farneti did say he's got Meisel on board, but it looks like it'll be when Meisel feel like it, and not the other way around. I thought November would be festive because Franca's November covers were always (still hold Carolyn Murphy's sparkler cover very sacred.)

Wonder who will cover January UK Vogue. Naomi may not have gotten his first cover but I'm convinced she'll get one eventually. Also, I'm pretty sure he'll start making plans to get Meghan. I don't see it being a very hard to persuade her given how easily she gave in to Vanity Fair. On my personal wishlist is Naomie Harris. Anytime in 2018 will do.

I also doubt whether Meisel will shoot every cover, so I guess we can expect Mert & Marcus at some point.

I believe the Vanity Fair cover was needed so that a larger portion of the population would get to know Meghan before the engagement. She doesn't really need Vogue UK if you ask me; at least not for a few years.

Given the magazine's past form with improvised covers of Pippa and Kate, Meghan will likely be on the cover of Tatler - whether she agrees to it or not. If they DIDN'T feature her, I'd think they were saying something...
