Cover Rumor Thread

Wow, so many people want to see Gisele back on VP! Can't say I'm excited over themere thought of her. Gisele is an 'eco warrior', so that will mean she probably want to be shot un the Amazon again. Screw the carbon footprint, lol. Does it mean her edit may look like US Vogue x VB?

Last year was terribly underwhelming. Looking for someone with a strong sense of direction and identity. Someone like Tom Ford (or Emma Watson for Vogue Australia) who will take the gig very serious and go the extra mile. Vetting models and photographers for the edits etc. Alma's cover sold well for VP, so I'm guessing it may be another French icon?

^I'd love it if Marine Vacth got a VP cover (or be guest editing) but I think that is just my wishful thinking.

Complete speculation & theory but do you think we could be seeing an appearance of Jorja Smith on the cover of British Vogue, she’s been featured in the magazine a few times and has created a YouTube video with them!

She seems like someone Edward would like.

It's a toss up between her and Dua Lipa. Dua is more famous, but I think the message of Jorja's music will be more up Edward's alley. Plus she sat front row at Chanel, had a V cover.

What may also count in Dua's favour is her GQ cover and international Vogue one. It's hard to tell who will get it first. I prefer Jorja personally. But my faves never get the cover, lol. Case in point......Naomie Harris!

I have the feeling that Jorja Smith is receiving the same treatment than FKA Twigs: a lot of attention of designers and fashion figures, front rows, fashion editorials, even a MET Gala invitation... but not a Vogue cover.

Never heard of Jorja Smith, is she that famous? I looked her up and she looks like a toned down version of Sevdaliza.

While very talented and embraced by the fashion community, Jorja is nowhere near Dua Lipa in terms of commercial success. I'd be surprised if she got a Vogue UK cover before Dua, or one at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jorja gets a cover sooner than we think. There seems to be a lot of industry goodwill towards her. She has even managed to bag featurings with Drake and Kendrick Lamar. I was discussing it with a friend when she released her album. We were very surprised at how high her Spotify placements were, she had ads, was top of many playlists, was top of the new releases ahead of even Lily Allen and Kanye West. It was all the more surprising that she's supposed to be an independent artist. And she was nominated for many prestigious awards, is often featured in magazines, etc.
fka twigs is a critique darling but I can't remember her ever getting that kind of push.

So what magazine triggered the tecent TFS copyright notice? Not to sound insensitive, but damn it was so nostalgic.

Back on topic.

I hope in 2019, #NewVogue expands its scope. 2018 was diversity, but I hope in 2019 #NewVogue means that its time to finally give covers to those who are relevant but are constantly ignored by his predecessor and other magazines.

Also, Ruth Negga not getting a UK Vogue cover for 2019 (Ad Astra) would be criminal.

I thought it was Michelle Obama's Elle cover? I think that was the only thread which was removed from the "Ebay" ones for December.

I would love an Issue by Isabelle Huppert, Marc Jacobs or Jean Paul Goude! But i don't know why i can see Emmanuelle doing a music-themed issue. We have lost two important music figures since the last guest-issue.
A model dedicated issue can work. Emmanuelle loves her supermodels and with the declining sales, it's a safe bet for her. It would be a perfect time for her to finally put Raquel on the cover but we know it will never happen at this point.

But no Gisele!

Francisco Lachowski is shooting for GQ Portugal (most likely will be a cover by looks of it) *

Sandra Martins, model from We Are Models was shooting with Jamie Nelson, I think it is for Vogue Portugal. Jamie start working again with magazine.

* He is there for GQ Portugal Awards

Felicity Jones is January Marie Claire UK

Rita Ora has shot a cover for The Stylist

Dilone has shot a UK cover.

Yesterday was GQ Portugal Man Of The Year awards.

Last year Barbara Palvin and Jordan got covers for GQ Portugal and Vogue Portugal.
They won International Model in each category.

This year, they are already shooting like last year.

International Male Model was Chico Lawoski and International Female Model was Stella Maxwell.
I already saw on social media that Chico was shooting, so I assume a GQ cover is coming. It's second time he shooting for GQ Portugal from what I know...

Stella Maxwell came with her agent, and he shared a bit ago that they are shooting. I do see a Vogue cover coming, maybe a GQ as well like Barbara. But Stella is building a more HF profile, I think it could only be Vogue...

Bruna Marquezine, actress and influencer, is also shooting with Branislav Simoncik, most likely is for GQ, since Vogue Portugal only chooses models for covers.

On a National level, model Blesnya Minher won on Female Model of 2018, I wish sooooooo bad she got a cover at Vogue, but from I came, the models who get covers are usually on International category... And Pedro Pinto won Male Model of 2018, who was on Zoe Kravitz ad for YSL. (I find even more likely him getting a cover from I came to know from GQ Portugal...)

Alicia Vikander’s on the December issue of Vogue Spain, and judging from the preview I’ve just seen on Instagram, it’s bound to get dragged on here!

Goop mag issue 4 (Volume 2 No. 1 according to the cover) is Gwyneth in her Valentino wedding dress.
